What is considered cheating when playing Wordle? ›

Lack of social interaction

While some people enjoy the challenge of playing on their own, others may prefer games that allow them to interact with others or compete against friends. The lack of social interaction may be another reason why some people are losing interest in the game.

No plurals, no proper nouns, nothing very obscure, and not many conjugated verbs (some ---ED works some don't, it isn't a hard rule). The word list was pretty much hand selected by Palek Shah, the creator's partner. She went through ~13,000 words and picked out the 2309 valid answers.

Start with a word that has a lot of vowels.

Some Wordle players have found success in starting with a word that has several vowels in it. “Adieu,” “audio” or “canoe,” for instance, may be good words to start with because at least three out of the five letters are vowels.

Most people should, on average, get it in at least 4, even on days where it is harder. Especially if you aren't making risky moves, four guesses should supply you with enough information to make a correct guess.
