Sample Image - NOT LIVE, does not refresh. | Illinois, Rochelle - Trains Webcam Pop Hot! Ed Pick Rochelle, IL - Excellent railcam, and one of the originals, online for over 20 years. This is the most popular link in our entire directory! In cooperation with the City of Rochelle, Illinois, we present the TRAINS Rochelle Webcam, where nearly a hundred trains may be seen in any 24-hour period. Our camera is mounted facing west at the Rochelle Railroad Park. Union Pacific's former C&NW Chicago - Omaha main line is seen in the foreground on the right, while Burlington Northern Santa Fe's former BN Chicago - Twin Cities line is at left. Both double-track lines cross at the center of the picture. Rochelle's Railroad Park was designed for railfans. The covered picnic pavilion -- directly underneath our camera -- features benches and picnic tables, speakers carrying BNSF and UP radio transmissions, and an up-close, engineer's eye-level view of passing trains. A gift shop features books, magazines, videos, railroadiana, film, snacks, and clean restrooms. Sample Image - NOT LIVE, does not refresh. | Pop Hot! Ed Pick Chama, NM - The remote mountain village of Chama, New Mexico is the western terminus of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. Chamawas once a Division Point on the Denver & Rio Grande Western's "San Juan Extension" that ran from Alamosa, Colorado throughnorthern New Mexico to Durango, Colorado. Today, the segment between Chama and Antonito, Colorado has been preservedas the Cumbres & Toltec. This 65-mile-long museum traverses some of the most strikingly beautiful and isolated mountainwilderness on the planet. The railroad yard in Chama boasts the largest collection of Rio Grande railroad equipment in existence. There are usually five or six of the railroad's ten steam locomotives in the yard with one or two under steam. The Depot cameraoffers an up-close-and-personal view of the equipment and century-old Rio Grande Depot. Tune in each morning for aspectacular Chama sunrise. Entering Chama is like taking a step back in time to the 1950's when the railroad still operated as a common carrier. In fact, the D&RGW was the last Class I railroad in the country to run steam in regular service. The line was shut down in 1968, butwas saved by a dedicated group of volunteers and the states of Colorado and New Mexico. Through decades of hard work andmany close calls, the railroad has become one this country's premier historic properties.
