Ranked is a competitive game mode in Brawlhalla, played mainly as 3-stock 1v1 or 2v2 matches on a map randomly selected from a reduced set of the available Maps. Additionally, there is a Seasonal Ranked Queue; similar to Brawl of the Week, this queue uses a different gamemode and alternates gamemodes each season.
Every player has a starting overall ELO of 1200 (Silver 2) and every Legend has a starting ELO of 750 (Tin 1). Winning a match in Ranked mode will award Elo to both the Player Ranking and the Legend that was played. Losing, however, will result in a deduction of Elo.
Playing Ranked is the only way to achieve Glory. Glory is earned at the end of each Season for 1v1 and 2v2 queues, while Glory can be earned mid-season by winning a certain amount of games or placing a certain rank in the Seasonal Ranked Queue.

Placements
Each season, the first 10 ranked matches count as the player's placements matches. These matches have a greater impact on the player's Elo, giving 3 times the Elo gain/loss for personal Elo in 1v1 and both personal and team Elo in 2v2. Additionally, the player's rating is hidden until the 10 matches are completed. Once a new season begins, the player's Elo will undergo a soft reset, and placement matches start again.
Completing the 10 placement matches makes the player eligible for end-of-season rewards, including Ranked Avatars and Ranked Loading Frames.
Rewards
Playing ranked allows players to unlock rewards exclusive to the mode. The following are granted at the end of the season:
- Glory, a currency that can be used in the Store.
- Ranked Avatars, which upgrade with best ranking each season.
- A Loading Frame based on your best ranking of the previous season.
Rewards for the highest ranking, Valhallan, are instead granted immediately after reaching the rank:
- A title for the season you reached Valhallan.
- An avatar that has two states: "active" while in the Valhallan rank, and "inactive" after dropping lower.
- A loading frame that can only be used while in the Valhallan rank.
XP Bonus
Playing ranked against sufficiently high ranked opponents grants players with an XP bonus. The minimum Elo rating requirement for an opponent to grant this bonus is 1390 (start of Gold 1) where +5% XP will be given; the bonus increases linearly to +50% when fighting against Diamond opponents at 2000 Elo. All opponents above 2000 Elo will grant +50%. Valhallan opponents will grant +100% XP, double the normal amount.
The bonus only takes into account the current rank of the opponent in the ranked queue being played. For example, when playing in Ranked 2v2, only the enemy team's 2v2 rating is considered, and each player's 1v1 rating is irrelevant.
Ranking Thresholds
When being demoted from one tier to the next, you will have a level of protection, e.g. Silver 1 -> Silver 0 -> Bronze 4, but Bronze 5 -> Silver 1 (skipping Silver 0).
Once a player reaches Diamond in a season, they can not lose the Diamond rank for the duration of the season. Like all other ranks though, it can be lost in the next season with the soft Elo reset. However, Hero and Personal 2v2 Diamond can be lost if it dips below 2000 Elo.
Valhallan rank acts different than other ranks, requiring you to have 100+ wins, be in Diamond (personal 1v1 or team 2v2 Elo), and be one of the top performing in the region. The following are the per-region placement requirements:
Placement | Regions |
---|---|
Top 150 | US East, Europe |
Top 100 | Brazil |
Top 50 | SE Asia, US West |
Top 25 | Australia, Japan, Middle East |
Top 15 | South Africa |
In addition, Valhallan is unobtainable for the first two weeks from the start of the season.
If a player in the Valhallan rank drops out of the top of their region during the daily reset (9 am UTC/5 am EDT/2 am PDT), they will become a Fallen Valhallan. This causes the Valhallan Frame to be revoked from their inventory, and the Valhallan Emblem avatar to be set to an inactive state.
Seasons
The progress in Ranked is divided into seasons which last about 13 weeks. Each season ends with a soft reset that decreases all players’ rankings by a certain amount. At the end of each season, everyone who participated in it will get Glory based on how they did.

Seasonal Ranked Queue
In Brawlhalla Ranked Season 20, BMG (Blue Mammoth Games) introduced a new Seasonal Ranked Queue. Similar to Brawl of the Week, this queue uses an alternative gamemode and changes gamemodes each season.
Unlike the regular 1v1 and 2v2 Ranked queues, players can earn rewards (such as Glory and Titles) mid-season, by winning certain amounts of games and reaching a certain rank.
Additionally, this mode will allow for progression on Missions, a key difference between it and Brawl of the Week.
Rewards
The rewards for Seasonal Ranked follow the same pattern each season, earning Glory at certain milestones and Titles at others.
Titles are different for each season but follow the same format; for example, getting 10 wins in Season 20's Kung Foot queue would earn the title "S20 Kung Foot Player."
