Benefits of vegetable hummus dip
Hey, hey guys! So I don't know about you but I don't want to eat a whole heap of crappy food this month. It makes me feel tired and drained so I try to eat foods that will give me a bit of energy and optimum nutrition. Also as I have a desk job I can't eat this, that and everything else as I am not being physical enough to do so.
Recently I saw an interesting recipe recently for a vegan cheese dip but whilst it looked cool it would have a cost a bomb to make ie lottttttttttts of expensive ingredients . Anyhoo I decided to whip up this Raw Broccoli Hummus instead.
This is perfect for the Christmas period and it's goooooooooood. It has the texture of a real dip but without the creamy, icky, yucky who knows what's in it taste to it.
Trust me, with a bowl of this on your table, your guests will be swarming the plate!

Notes
- Really give the broccoli a good rinse before you use it. I had a little green bug on mine and whilst I was grateful for less pesticides, I did wonder how many other ones there were!!
- After making the hummus, taste it. If you think it is a bit bland, add more lemon juice, salt and pepper and combine again, till the flavour is spot on.

When to serve your Raw Broccoli Hummus
If you remember from ourChristmas Salad recipe the other day, we had started the countdown till Santa comes and guess what....now it is even closer!!
I have also been able to update our '12 Days of Christmas' list with one more recipe....you guessed it.....no 12 is our Raw Broccoli Hummus. So across the board, we have an appetiser, a co*cktail, a salad, some sides and some sweet treats...sounds to me like our Christmas tables are........S-O-R-T-E-D....which is so important. My tips for the big day are:
- Meat prep where you can
- Have a balance of naughty and nice
Now, lets take another look at that list......
You know the saying '12 Days of Christmas'….well here are 12 options for you to get your Christmas dinner together in a colourful and creative way with a bit of naughty and nice thrown in there too for good measure!!
12 Days of Christmas…
- Steamed Broccolini(greens to balance out our carbs)
- Oven Roasted Brussel Sprouts(every Christmas table, needs a bowl of these bad boys!)
- Thanksgiving Salad(as you may need more than one salad if cooking for a crowd over a few days!)
- Christmas co*cktail(present opening drinks, YES!!!)
- Raw Broccoli Hummus.....I am thinking co*cktail in one hand and cracker and this dip in the other!!
As always sing out if you have questions about the recipes or techniques, I am almost always on the blog or in the kitchen doing something so you might get a reply sooner than you think!
