Revali's Gale [Edit] [Talk]
Revali's Gale is a Key Item and ability that first appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It is acquired by defeating Windblight Ganon, soothing Divine Beast Vah Medoh and freeing Revali's spirit in the process. It is a green sphere with Medoh’s emblem in the middle.
Uses and Location[]
Revali's Gale is rewarded to Link by its user, Revali, as an appreciation for avenging his death by destroying his killer, Windblight Ganon and bringing Vah Medoh back under Hyrulean control before going off to take aim at Hyrule Castle. Revali's Gale can propel Link into the air by holding the jump button and releasing it once the updraft is summoned. It can be used to save stamina, making climbing up high cliffs and pillars much easier as well as avoiding most unwanted enemy conflicts if the player wishes to. Revali's Gale can be used three times before requiring a cooldown, which lasts six minutes real-time and reduced to two minutes at Hyrule Castle before it can be used again.
Revali's Gale can be updated to Revali's Gale + once The Champions' Ballad is purchased and the EX-Revali's Song is completed. It has the fastest recharge rate of two minutes and the cooldown lasting up to forty seconds at Hyrule Castle for it to be used again.
Revali is seen using this ability multiple times in most of the Recovered Memories he appears in. In the 2nd Memory Revali's Flap, he used it to make an entrance and showing it off to Link at the beginning of this scene and does it again at its conclusion to fly to Vah Medoh, but not without taunting Link as he soars. In the 15th Memory Return of Calamity Ganon, after being startled by a sudden quake, Revali utilizes his Gale to investigate what's going on and it is where he witnessed, to his horror, Calamity Ganon's seal having been broken and surrounding Hyrule Castle. In the 1st Recovered Memory of The Champions' Ballad, a tired and desperate Revali is seen trying to perfect this move but is blown out of the sky during his ascent, much to his distress. After accepting a visiting Princess Zelda's request to become Vah Medoh's Pilot, Revali takes a moment to try again, this time getting it right and descends to shoot three targets with Bomb Arrows and uses it once more to destroy the remaining targets.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity[]
Revali's Gale is exclusively used by the Rito Warrior alone and the player can press the ZR button to activate it to perform aerial attacks and it's also his Special Attack when he takes to the sky to rain Bomb Arrows against any foe that stands in his way. During the opening cutscene of The Champion Revali, after hearing a report about a Guardian leading an assault against Rito Village, Revali permits them to attack and uses his Gale to take to the skies and does it again during his battle with Link after being thrown against the barricade. He also used it during The Road Home, Besieged opening cutscene in response to hearing of enemies attacking and in another cutscene, Revali used it to get away from Impa and Terrako when they were having a dispute to the point of invading his space. After being rescued by Teba, whom Terrako had summoned from the future, Revali soars into the air to take aim at Windblight Ganon to get his much needed vengeance for almost ending his life earlier.
