Similarly to how the difficulty increases over time in the base version of Risk of Rain 2, the waves of enemies will get tougher and tougher. A tricky boss will spawn every five waves, but thankfully the mode can also be played in co-op, so you can gather some friends together to take them down.

This is the level which determines monster stats. Scaling difficulty is a core mechanic of Risk of Rain 2. As a run progresses, the difficulty will steadily rise, making enemies both stronger and more numerous. i would say RoR2 are easier than RoR1 and RoRR combined because RoR2 are 3D, and theres more space to run around in the 3D open world of RoR2 than in RoR.

Monsoon is a tough boss chiefly because he is nearly invulnerable unless you manage to parry and counter him correctly. Note that Raiden has infinite Fuel Cells during this battle, and may engage Blade Mode for as long as you desire. This battle will no doubt test your parrying skills.
