Scanning with iPhones and iPads

- Scanning the document
- Launch the Notes appon your iPhone or iPad.
- Click the pencil on paper iconto create a new note. (If you don’t see a camera icon, go back to the top Folders screen in the Notes app and make sure you are using an ICLOUD folder.)
- Tap the Camerabutton just above the keyboard.
- Tap Scan Documentsfrom the list of options.
- Line up the document you want to scan.
- If the scanner doesn't automatically scan, tap the shutter buttonto manually scan the document.
- You will see the scan, with corners you can drag to crop the scan. You can also retake the scan. When finished, tap Keep Scan.
- The scan will shrink to a thumbnail and the camera will be ready for another scan. If finished scanning, tap Save.
- You will see your scan embedded in the note. You can add text, tables, checklists, etc.
- Doing markups
- One way to do markups is by tapping the pen icon above the keyboard.
- Select thetoolyou want to use.
- Mark up your document.
- Tap Donewhen you are finished.
- Converting scans to PDF
- With the scanned document open, tap the Share buttonin the upper right corner of the screen.
- Tap Markup(even if you already did your markups earlier).
- You could do any additional markups as needed. Click Done.
- Click Save File To…
- Select a destination. For example, if you have installed the Google Drive appon your device, you can select that. Then you can access that file in Google Drive to share with others, attach to an email, etc.
Scanning with Android
You can use the Google Drive app on an Android device to scan documents. Click here for Google’s latest instructions.
- Open the Google Drive app .
- In the bottom right, tap Add.
- Tap Scan.
- Take a photo of the document you'd like to scan.
- Adjust scan area: Tap Crop .
- Take photo again: Tap Re-scan current page .
- Scan another page: Tap Add .
- To save the finished document, tap Done.
