Set up your AirTag or third-party item

When you register an AirTag or third-party item to your Apple ID, you can see its location on a map, play a sound on it (if applicable), and mark it as lost. You can use your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to register an item.

For setup instructions, see any of the following:

Set up a family member’s device

If you’re part of a Family Sharing group, you can use Find My to help find and protect any family member’s device. Their devices appear below yours in the Devices list in Find My.

Each family member must set up their devices to share their locations with other family members. See the Apple Support article Share your location with your family.

You can’t add friends’ devices to your Devices list. Friends who lose a device can go to icloud.com/find and sign in with their Apple ID.
