Quant Small Cap Fund invests mostly in small cap stocks. Small cap schemes are extremely risky and volatile. That’s why these schemes are recommended only to aggressive investors who are ready to tolerate a lot of risk and volatility. They also should have a longer investment horizon of, say, seven to 10 years. A longer investment horizon would help you to navigate volatility better. In short, you can invest in small cap schemes like Quant Small Cap Fund if you are ready to take lot of risks, volatility and have a long investment horizon. Don't invest in small cap schemes if you have an investment horizon of three years.

You should also keep in mind that Quant Mutual Fund follows a different investment strategy. It follows quant-based strategy based on its in-house framework. They may buy and sell stocks based on their model and the fund house does not flinch at a lot of portfolio churning. The fund house is different in its approach and only if you understand and subscribe to the methodology, you should invest in the scheme. Don’t make your investment decisions based on the past returns. The past performance may not be repeated.
