I've been eagerly awaiting this release, and it's finally time to mark it on our calendars. Sleep Awake promises an immersive, narrative-driven journey into a world where sleep is a luxury and a deadly threat.
In this first-person psychedelic horror game, you step into the shoes of Katja, navigating the last known city on a ravaged Earth. The HUSH, a mysterious force, lurks, ready to claim anyone who dares to close their eyes. As Katja, you must stay vigilant and survive amidst a population experimenting with extreme measures to achieve permanent wakefulness.
But here's where it gets controversial... Sleep Awake is not just about survival; it's an exploration of the horrors that lurk in the corners of our universe, the fears that keep us awake at night. Cory Davis, the director of Spec Ops: The Line, and Nine Inch Nails guitarist Robin Finck, founders of Eyes Out studio, aim to create an ultra-immersive audio-driven experience.
"The horrors we build are inspired by the unknown, the terrors just beyond our reach but ever-present," Davis explains. "The technology allows us to craft soundscapes that are both realistic and nightmarish."
Finck adds, "The silence, the subtle nuances, and the gradual emergence into an impactful soundscape are key elements. The interplay between the diegetic sounds and the game's score creates a challenging and inspiring experience."
Sleep Awake is the debut title from Eyes Out, a project four years in the making. Blumhouse Games, known for their horror projects, is publishing this eerie adventure.

Eyes of Hellfire, a co-op gothic-horror game, arrived in August, and Grave Seasons and Crisol: Theater of Idols are on the horizon.
