I can't speak from experience, as for any returns I've had eBay either automatically refunds as soon as it's scanned as Delivered, or I always process the return within a few hours, but.... so I'm assuming the 2 day thing you are mentioning above is from this help link:

If the item has been returned to the seller and they haven't given you a refund after 2 business days, you can ask eBay to step in and help.
Seller 101: ANY time eBay has to step in, is a bad thing for a seller, that's a ding on your seller account no matter what anything else happens.
After that, if eBay does step in and forces the refund, from what I understand, they will just pull from your pending funds first, and then pull from your connected bank next. (Which could result in then problems with your bank if those funds aren't there either.)
But again, never tried to experience this scenario first hand, so I can't answer for sure. Best of luck, and don't keep a buyer waiting for their refund.
