The Best Strawberry Smoothie
Even with such a seemingly basic recipe, there’s actually a trick that makes some strawberry smoothies taste better than others.
The trick is to use frozen strawberries instead of adding ice, because this will result in a thicker and creamier smoothie with a much deeper strawberry flavor.
If using fresh strawberries, just cut off the stems and freeze them beforehand, or you can buy the berries already frozen. Before blending, thaw them just enough so they aren’t rock hard and can be easily blended.

Smoothie Flavors
For a chocolate strawberry smoothie: Add 1 tbsp cocoa powder to the recipe before blending. If desired, you can also add a squirt of chocolate syrup or top with mini chocolate chips.
For keto strawberry smoothies: Use canned coconut milk as the milk of choice, and sweeten with erythritol, stevia, or your favorite low carb sweetener. Top with Coconut Whipped Cream.
For a strawberry protein shake: Simply add 1 tbsp of your favorite protein powder to the blender. For an added protein boost, choose a yogurt or milk high in protein.
For a vegan strawberry smoothie: As long as you use a plant-based (dairy free) milk, such as almond milk, coconut milk, oat milk, or soy milk, this smoothie is naturally vegan. It’s also gluten free and can be made without refined sugar.
For a fruit smoothie: Feel free to replace half of the strawberries with blueberries, diced pineapple, banana, mango, or another fruit of your choice. Be sure to freeze the fruit prior to blending for a thicker smoothie.

Notes
The trick is to freeze the strawberries so there’s no need to add ice, which results in a much better flavor. The recipe was adapted from my Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie.

This is such an easy strawberry smoothie recipe. I make it almost every morning, sometimes using almond milk and other times using coconut milk. I often add almond butter or protein powder, and sometimes throw in blueberries 🙂

Such a good strawberry smoothie recipe. Thank you!!!
I looked up “strawberry smoothie” and kept finding recipes with spinach, peanut butter, kiwi, chia seeds, and so many other ingredients when all I wanted was a basic strawberry smoothie. THIS fit the bill, and it was delicious :).

What sweetener do you use?
Reply
CCK Media Team says
Most will work, so just use your favorite 🙂
Regular sugar, coconut sugar, pure maple syrup, honey (for non vegan), erythritol for sugar free, date sugar, etc.Reply

May be a dumb question, but does this imply that milk AND OJ AND a yogurt are used?

Hi, no it is an OR. In other words, one of the three – your choice.

The recipe says frozen strawberries but the video shows fresh ones. Can you use either or??

Hi! The ones in the video were frozen for a few hours. You can definitely use fresh – the smoothie will just not be as cold and might be a little less thick.

Loved it, but wasn’t sure how much of a sweetener to put in it.Reply
CCK Media Team says
Thank you so much for trying it! The amount will really depend greatly on what type of milk you use (sweetened, unsweetened, etc.) and your personal tastebuds, as well as what type of sweetener you wish to use – maple syrup, sugar, stevia, etc. So it’s entirely your choice 🙂
