Where is the Malia Strip?
The Malia Strip is the centre of nightlife in Malia. It runs from the old town to the beach and is sometimes known as ‘Beach Road’, but its real name is Dimokratias Street.
The Strip is packed with bars and clubs that cater to all kinds of music tastes. If you fancy a change of vibe halfway through the night, then you’ll have plenty of options to choose from. The strip is also home to plenty of restaurants and daytime bars, so it’s the ideal place to situate yourself when you’re working a summer in Malia.
Malia Clubs
Apollo
Apollo is one of the biggest and most popular clubs in Malia. It has everything you’d want from a superclub – multiple bars, podiums and a large dancefloor that’s always packed to the rafters.
Camelot Castle Club
Camelot Castle Club is an old favourite that’s you’ll spot right away, thanks to its iconic castle façade. But don’t let the medieval exterior fool you – inside is one of the most vibrant club atmospheres in Malia.
Candy Club
Consistently voted one of the best clubs in Malia, Candy Club definitely shouldn’t be missed. The large club has a VIP section and hosts some of the biggest events throughout summer.
The Venue
Being a relatively new addition to the Strip hasn’t stopped The Venue from becoming one of the hottest spots in town. Its indie rock tunes will get you up and dancing on the bar!
Lux Club
Lux Club is another of Malia’s premium club offerings, with VIP tables, top-tier service and an outdoor drinking area. Keep an eye out for events – Lux has celebrity DJs booked in and plenty of themed nights throughout summer.
Malia Beach Bars
Bikini Beach Bar
Bikini Beach Bar combines stunning views with a luxury setting. Situated on the white sand of Malia beach, it includes a restaurant, all-day café and shisha bar.
Dolphin Beach Bar
With its pirate ship aesthetic, Dolphin Beach Bar lets you know straight away that it doesn’t take itself too seriously. This is the spot to head to for a fun day relaxing in the sun.
Windmill Beach Bar
The Windmill beach bar is part of a holiday apartment block and is perfectly located on a stunning stretch of the Malia coastline. Food and drink are reasonably priced, but it’s the view that really sells this place.

Help Bar
Help Bar has some of the friendliest staff in Malia and you’ll quickly be made to feel at home. To top it all off, the co*cktails are just as good as (if not better than) the service!
The Flying Dutchman
The Flying Dutchman is another relatively recent addition to the strip, having opened up just a couple of years ago. That hasn’t stopped it becoming a firm fan favourite, due in large part to its tasty co*cktails and regular live performers.
Mango co*cktail Bar
Mango is the perfect place to go if you’re looking for a more high-end experience. This co*cktail bar has sophisticated décor and serves delicious drinks made with fresh ingredients.
Zoo Bar
Zoo Bar is located in a prime spot on the Strip and has a regular flow of visitors throughout the day and night. There’s lot of entertainment options and games, plus a laidback vibe that will make you feel at home.
Reflex Bar
80s and 90s music lovers should get themselves down to Reflex Bar, situated in the centre of Malia. This co*cktail-bar-come-club has a lively atmosphere that will make you want to get up and dance.
Sports Bars, Pubs & Karaoke
Galaxy Gastropub
Situated between the charming old town and vibrant Strip, Galaxy Gastropub is one of Malia’s most popular eateries. With its unique pub-style setting, you’ll find real ales on tap and plenty of TV screens showing sports throughout the day.
Zig Zag Lounge
We haven’t yet mentioned Zig Zag, which is another dominant player on Malia’s club scene. Next to the club itself is Zig Zag Lounge, the ideal spot for pre-drinks and one of the only places to offer karaoke in Malia.
The George and Dragon
The George and Dragon is one of Malia’s most versatile venues. It’s essentially a pub serving tasty food and showing matches throughout the day. By night, it’s a popular meeting spot thanks to its prominent location on the Strip.
The Saltire Lounge
As Malia’s (perhaps unsurprisingly) only Scottish pub, The Saltire Lounge regularly draws in crowds in search of a slice of home. Serving cheap pints and showing live sports, The Saltire Lounge is a great place to spend an afternoon.

The party strip in Malia is located on the main road leading from the old town to the beach. It’s official name is Dimokratias Street but it’s sometimes called ‘Beach Road’ or simply ‘The Strip’.
What is the dress code for Malia clubs?
The dress code in Malia is pretty relaxed, and you can get away with wearing whatever you feel most comfortable in. Some of the bigger clubs sometimes have a smart casual dress code and if you’re attending a specific event, like a foam party, you’ll be asked to wear appropriate clothing.
How much do drinks cost in Malia?
Drinks in Malia aren’t as cheap as they used to be, but they’re still a lot less expensive than in the UK. In most bars, you’ll be able to get a pint of beer for around €3. There are lots of deals on, with popular ones being two spirit mixers for €5-6.
