Fans know Howie as the original host ofDeal or No Deal, where he would take calls from the Banker and often go to bat for contestants when he felt they were getting an especially bad offer. Now onDeal or No Deal Island, he's gone to the dark side and spent all season looking to meet his match by putting the players through the ringer.

The Banker is a fixture of the originalDeal or No Deal, as they are the enigmatic figure whose full face is never seen and whose true voice is never heard. They oversee the contestants as they pick briefcases and, every so often, the Banker will make a call to the host (Howie Mandel in the original; Manganiello on Deal or No Deal Island) with an offer and a quippy comment. If the contestant accepts the offer, the game ends. Their other option is to reject the option and press their luck.
The Banker is the villain of Deal or No Deal, essentially. They want to offer the contestants as little money as they think they’ll accept — sometimes an outright insulting offer — in the hopes that they’ll accept it, tail between their legs, potentially leaving hundreds of thousands of dollars more on the table.
In the original NBC series and the CNBC revival series, the silhouette of the Banker was visible behind the stage, and Howie occasionally interacted with them.
Will Howie Mandel still be The Banker in Season 2?

Now that Deal or No Deal Islandhas been renewed for a second season, we have to wonder: Will Howie return for Season 2?Our hopes would be yes, though it feels likely he'll remain in the lap of luxury on his yacht to watch the next round of victims — er,contestantscompete for a chance to face him in the final round. Don't expect Howie to be popping up in the jungle for an iced tea and a chat.
On the original NBC show, which ran from 2005 to 2009, the Banker was a man whose identity was never confirmed while the series was on the air. After the show ended, however, his real identity was confirmed to be actor Peter Abbay.
On the CNBC revival series, which aired from 2018 to 2019, the Banker was a woman. Sleuths on the internet were able to correctly identify actor Carrie Lauren as this Banker.
Everyone in the temple had their jaws DROPPED at seeing who the Banker's identity really was...the one and only Howie Mandel

But first, she had to meet the Banker. Jordan Fowler on 'Deal or No Deal Island'. In a twist even less surprising than Boston Rob being eliminated, the Banker was finally revealed, and it was none other than original Deal or No Deal host (and current Island executive producer) Howie Mandel.
The identity of The Banker on Deal or No Deal has been confirmed. The mysterious man speaking to presenter Noel Edmonds on the end of the telephone has been revealed as the Channel 4 gameshow's producer Glenn Hugill.
For the curious, my formula for calculating the banker's offer = [expected value]*(round number)/9 where the expected value = (the total money left)/(number of cases left). Deal or No Deal?
In the CNBC version, the banker is played by actress Carrie Lauren, who has featured on many movies and TV shows. Unlike the NBC version, she is shown in the silhoutted Banker's Office with a white light in the background, but has never been seen on the show outside of it.
Peter Abbay was just the person in the office and was not actually the banker. The producers were the people actually making the offers. The second banker, was a female banker played by actress Carrie Lauren, and was the banker in the 2018-19 CNBC revival.
They only contact the contestants to ask, “Deal or no deal?” While the Island banker remains a mystery, it is possible that their identity will eventually be revealed. There has been a previous instance of this, as in the 2005-2009 original show run by NBC, the banker was American actor Peter Abbay (via NBC).
Deal or No Deal Island is an American reality competition series which premiered on NBC on February 26, 2024. A spin-off of the game show Deal or No Deal, the series features contestants competing in physical challenges in an island setting to retrieve briefcases containing cash values.
Reality and game shows are not supposed to be staged or scripted, as that is a common complaint among audiences. As far as anyone publicly knows, the Deal or No Deal Banker is not tipped off to any secret information.
Before the actual show begins, each of 22 briefcases is randomly assigned a unique amount of money ranging from $0.01 to $500,000 by a third party organization (otherwise uninvolved in the game play). Then, with the cameras rolling, the contestant chooses one of the 22 cases but is not allowed to open it.
One basic strategy is for a contestant to act so as to maximize the expected value of his prize. At each point in the game where the banker makes an offer, the contestant can maximize his expected value by choosing the offer if it is greater than the average value of the unopened cases and declining it when it is less.
No.The odds are the same whether you switch or not. At first glance that might sound like heresy, but there's a subtle difference between yours, and the original Monty Hall problem: Suppose you're on a game show, and you're given the choice of three doors: Behind one door is a car; behind the others, goats.
After its premiere, Deal Or No Deal Island immediately became a fan-favorite show, averaging 5.8 million total viewers across all platforms, more than two times its live audience.

At the start of Deal or No Deal Island, who would have imagined that Aron Barbell, a mild-mannered accountant from Champaign, Illinois, would not only muscle out Boston Rob Mariano for screen time but also test his game over and over.
As far as anyone publicly knows, the Deal or No Deal Banker is not tipped off to any secret information. They are not told how much is in each case and are not keyed into anything considered game-changing information.
Throughout the game, after a predecided number of cases have been opened, the "Banker" offers the contestant an amount of money and/or prizes to quit the game; the offer is based roughly on the amounts remaining in play and the contestant's demeanor, so the bank tries to 'buy' the contestant's case for a lower price ...
It is soon after revealed that Howie Mandel is the banker! Howie plays the role of antagonist at the temple, but in the end, Jordan wins a life-changing sum of money that she hopes will help her start her family and the next chapter of her life with her husband.
