If, like many, you have been troubled by the great mystery surroundingphone calls on an iPhone, you'll want to read on.
The eagle-eyed amongus will have noticed that sometimes you get the option to accept or reject an incoming phonecall with the pressing of a button. But on other occasions, you simply slide to answer. Not even the slightest SNIFF of a reject option.
So why all the inconsistency, eh, Apple? WHY?
Well the clever tech types at Business Insider have some answers for us,finally, to stop our minds boggling.
When the iPhone is locked, you get the 'slide to answer' option.
But when your phone is in use, you get the 'accept' and 'reject' options in the form of the button.
Genius!
And, because it's Apple, there's obviously a functional reason behind this difference. The technology giants opted for a slider option to appearwhen the phone is locked because it reduces the chance of acidentally answering a phone call in your pocket or in your bag.
And if your phone is in your hand, being used, it's functionally easier to answer with the tap of the button as opposed to the slide of a finger. Oh theyhavethought this through, haven't they.
But don't worry, you can still reject a call if your phone is locked and only the 'slide to answer' option comes up. Either simply press the lock button once to ignore it andlet the call ring out insilence, or twice to actually decline the call and cut the person at the other end of the phone off completely.
So there you have it. That's another iPhonemystery solved that you can tick off the list.
