Today's Trade Activity (2024)

In the Today's Trade Activity section of the Activity and Positions tab, you can view and manage all working, filled, and cancelled orders. Rolling strategies are also available under Today's Trade Activity. These sections are organized under four headers that can be expanded by clicking the arrow to the left:

• Working orders.Orders that have been placed but not yet filled.
• Filled orders.Orders that have been executed.
• Canceled orders.Orders that have been canceled, for example, because they were not filled by the end of the trading day.
• Rolling strategies.Complex orders for rolling options. Rolling is the process of buying back the short option near expiration and simultaneously selling the next expiration period's same strike option.

Each header displays the number of orders in that section and, as you scroll through Today’s Trade Activity, these headers can stick together for easy navigation. To turn on sticky headers, click the anchor icon towards the top of the page, to the far right of Activity and Positions. Click the anchor icon again to turn off sticky headers.

When Today's Trade Activity main header is collapsed, it shows the numbers of corresponding orders from the mentioned sections.

Using Today's Trade Activity

To see the contents of each order group, click the arrow icon next to the group name. To hide the contents, click the icon again.

By default, Time, Order ID, Description, and Status columns are displayed in each section. To sort a section using these columns, click the column name. An up arrow appearing indicates ascending order whereas a down arrow indicates descending order. To cycle between sorting methods continue clicking the column name.

You can add more columns by clicking on the More fields button on the far right of each group.

Working Orders

In Working Orders, you can cancel orders that haven’t executed yet. To do this, right-click the order and click Cancel.

To cancel multiple orders use the Show actionsbutton in the top-right of Working Orders. Here, select the orders to be cancelled:

• Cancel all working orders cancels all currently working orders.
• Cancel DAY cancels working orders set to expire at the end of the trading day.
• Cancel DAY and EXTENDED cancels working orders set to expire at the end of the trading day and through extended hours.
• Cancel GTC cancels all GTC (good till cancelled) orders.
• Cancel Buying cancels all buying orders.
• Cancel Selling cancels all selling orders.

In addition, you can try to cancel all the orders for a certain underlying.

To change a working order, right-click it and select Cancel/replace order... to open the order entry dialog.

Note: Any order can get filled or partially filled while you are attempting to take any of the above actions.

Filled Orders

Filled orders can be sorted by specification such as execution time (Exec Time), price (Price), order type (Type), etc. Click Show average fill prices to view the average buy and sell prices of each underlying traded that day.

Note: The number of fills received may not equal the number of orders placed and orders may be filled in pieces, called “partial fills”. Partial fills may or may not be completed in full and trades executed over multiple trading days may be subject to commission charges for each day.
