Explore the transfer process
Nearly three-quarters of all ASU Online undergraduate students have transferred from another college or university.
To begin, you’ll need to complete the online application, pay an application fee and send transcripts to ASU. You can also speak with an enrollment coach about how your credits may transfer.
Transfer to ASU
You’re considered a transfer student at ASU if you are looking to complete a bachelor’s degree but already have 12 or more transferable credits post-high school.
You must also meet one of the following requirements to transfer to ASU Online:
- Graduated from high school.
- Earned a GED.
- Completed or are in-progress toward an associate degree.

Transfer-friendly degrees
Undergraduate programs can accept a maximum of 64 college credits from previous institutions, with a few exceptions depending on your program of interest. We offer various transfer-friendly degrees that accept more transfer credits than our other programs. These degrees allow a faster path to graduation and long-term savings.

Financial aid for transfer students
Apply for financial aid by filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Your financial aid does not transfer from your previous college, and your eligibility will be re-evaluated. Explore scholarships for online students to help cover your college expenses.
