Ensure your Pokémon GO app is up to date
Pokémon GO works best when using the newest version of the app. If you’re experiencing an issue with an older version of the app, please update your Pokémon GO app and see if this fixes the problem for you.

Open theGoogle Play Storeapp.

On the top left, tap themenubutton.

Tap theMy apps & gamesmenu option.

Navigate to thePokémon GOapp and tap theUpdatebutton.
Check your internet connection
Ensure your device is connected to a reliable data connection (Wifi, 3G, or 4G). Try switching internet sources: if you have trouble connecting to Wifi, try to connect using 3G or 4G. If you have trouble connecting to 3G or 4G, try to connect using Wifi.
If you're having GPS issues,consider enabling the Improve Location Accuracy setting.
Refresh your Game Data
Go to the Settings menu, select Advanced Settings, and tap Refresh Game Data. Refreshing your game data can resolve a variety of gameplay issues you may be experiencing.
Note: Refreshing your game data may untoggle Adventure Sync. If you have Adventure Sync enabled, check that it's still toggled on after refreshing.
Use automatic system time
Make sure that your device's time and date is set to update automatically. You can update your system time using your device’s Settings app.

Clear Pokémon GO app data and cache
By clearing app data and cache, you may be able to resolve temporary issues affecting Pokémon GO. Please note that the following steps may vary depending on your device.

Open theSettings appon your device.

TapStorage>Games.

Select thePokémon GOapp.

Check your device’s background data restrictions
Ensure that your phone has not restricted background data access to Google Play Services and Google Play Store.Learn how to turn on background data.
Uninstall and reinstall Pokémon GO
Delete the Pokémon GO app and reinstall the latest official version from theGoogle Play Store. Your game progress will not be lost by performing these steps, as all game progress is stored online.
Reconnect Google’s access to Pokémon GO (Google accounts only)
You may be able to resolve login issues by refreshing Google’s connection to Pokémon GO. Your game progress will not be lost by performing these steps.

Visit theGoogle connected apps settingspage and select Pokémon GO from the list of connected apps.

Click theRemovebutton to disconnect Pokémon GO from your Google account.
- To reconnect your Google account, log into Pokémon GO as you normally would. Open Pokémon GO on your phone and log in using your Google account.
Remove your Google account from your device (Google accounts only)
If all other steps do not resolve your issue, try removing and adding your Google account to your device.
When you remove the account, your email, contacts, settings, and other information associated with the account is removed from your local storage until you add the account back to your device. Be sure that you complete these steps with adequate time to allow for your account data to download.
To remove the email account from your device:

Open theSettingsapp on your device.

Tap theAccountsmenu option.

Select your account. If you have multiple Google accounts, select the Google account you used to log into Pokémon GO.

TapRemove account.
To add the account back to your device:

Open theSettingsapp on your device.

Tap theAccountsmenu option.

TapAdd Account.

SelectGooglefrom the list of account types.
