Just to clarify. I bought a chunk of native plugins and since UA Connect won’t open, I can’t use any of the plugins. I couldn’t trial them since I can’t get it to work but have fomo
Support has been disappointing. An email a day is brutal.
I would really love some help

Looks like ilok is to blame. Is anyone on here?

Hi,
I had a similar issue a while ago. UAC would not launch properly on startup. Deleting and uninstalling did not solve the problem.
I have decided to delete UAC from the list of startup items in the system settings.
Now I launch UAC manually when my Mac has finished its startup routines.
It is one mouse click less comfortable than it was before, but it works fine.

You can also try my utility ‘UA Disconnect’ (see my sig), which implements a leaner chain of command and solves this problem entirely, in my experience.

What have you tried so far?

Thanks. I did try a full uninstall/reinstall quite a few times and trying every combination I could think of to make sure everything was deleted before a reinstall. Still no luck.
Thanks said, i got ilok working but still can't get UA Connect to actually launch.

Thanks, good utility which will be a big time saver. I walked thru the process with no luck.
Here's the latest thing I tried after uninstalling/reinstalling was running this script for Manually Enabling the UA Connect Helper Tool
sudo launchctl enable system/com.uaudio.bsd.helper

So I installed it on a different machine and realized that under "allow in the background", the machine that doesn't work is missing a service called Universal Audio which is visible on the working machine. I've added UA Connect as a login but nothing shows up as Universal Audio

It’s a brutally slow process with one email going back and forth per day. I honestly can’t believe this is how things are done these days.
i opened the ticket on Nov 30th!

As I said, it's one mouse click less convenient than it could be. I'm not upset about that, it doesn't even raise my blood pressure.
I'm happy that everything else works flawlessly, so I'm not making any effort to change the status quo.

if you go to /Applications/ and double click the item named ‘UA Connect Helper’ it does not launch? UA Connect not launching when you boot into the machine is kind of the point of the utility… just wanted you to be clear on that…

This is what UA recommended. Holy Moses it’s incredible that this is what is suggested to get their tools to work.
I have never ever been recommended to wipe my computer. Which runs great, super stable, I’ve spend 18 months getting it working perfectly. And then this guy tells me to wipe a machine? In a working studio? Super busy for the holidays.
Whatever. Lesson learned. Money burned

I would also strip all electrical wiring around your house, and refit using high-performance electromagnetic interference shielding material. If you still have issues after that, you could move out of the city to see if that helps.

Just to wrap this up. Support confirmed they’re not able to troubleshoot these issues and all they can do is give me advice. And their advice is to wipe my machine.
They offered a refund and I took it.
Easily the worst software and support experience maybe ever.
Super bummed to not use sunset sound rooms.

I hope you don't mind me piggy backing on this thread but i'm having similar issues.
Mac M1 OS Ventura . UA Connect and iLok wont open. I bought a new Apollo x8p Heritage recently and when I initially installed everything, it worked fine and two weeks later UA connect gives the error message , ilok wont open . Uninstalled both several times to no avail. Do I need to uninstall all of Universal software? Console and such, I don't use Luna but have it installed. Frustrated for sure.

This was my test to see if I wanted to switch from Apogee to Apollo and I eventually got a refund since their support sucks and would rather give a refund than admit a bug or issue. Slimey tactics as I knew were possible. Ilok was fixed by running a script they finally gave me which fixed all the issues. Was a nightmare. You’d have to ask them for the script, it’s buried in their support docs
UA never got working. Bummer. Horrendous support. Worst software experience of the decade.
