Ulta Credit Card Review
4.4 / 5
The Ulta Credit Card is a $0 annual fee rewards credit card for people who want to save money on Ulta Beauty products and services. It offers 20% off your first Ulta purchase made with the card, plus ongoing rewards of 2 points per $1 spent at Ulta. The Mastercard version of the Ulta Credit Card also gives 500 bonus points for spending $500 outside of Ulta Beauty in the first 90 days and 1 point per $3 spent on non-Ulta purchases normally.
Ulta Credit Card points are pretty valuable, too, worth 3 cents to 6.25 cents each, depending on how many you redeem. Cardholders can also earn elite status and increased rewards rates by spending at least $500 in a calendar year.
The biggest downsides of the Ulta Credit Card are its high APR and the fact that applicants can’t specifically apply for either the Mastercard or store credit card version of the offer. You will first be considered for the Mastercard, which requires a 700+ credit score for good approval odds. If you don’t qualify for the Ulta Mastercard, you will then be considered for the Ulta store credit card, which is generally available to people with credit scores of 640+. Those things don’t have to be deal breakers, though.
Below, you can find more information to help you decide whether or not to apply for the Ulta Card. If you have questions about an existing account, the Ulta Credit Card customer service number is 866-254-9971.
Ulta Credit Card Review Highlights:
• Annual Fee: $0
• Initial Bonus: 500 Points + 20% discount
• Ongoing Rewards: 0.33 - 2 points / $1
• Interest Rate: 23.24% - 32.24% (V)
• Rewards Redemption: Ulta Credit Card users can redeem points for Ulta Beauty products and services at varying rates. Redeeming 100 Ultamate Rewards points gets you $3 off, for example, while 250 points equal $8 off, 500 points are worth $17.50 and so on – all the way up to 2,000 points for $125 off.
Bottom Line: Is the Ulta Credit Card Worth It?
Yes. The Ulta Credit Card is worth it because it has a $0 annual fee and good rewards. Just make sure to pay the bill in full by each due date in order to avoid interest charges, which could skew the value proposition.

@m_adams
You can make an Ulta Credit Card payment online, by phone, by mail or through EasyPay. To pay an Ulta Credit Card bill online, log in to your online account and click on “Pay Now.” Then, choose how much to pay, when to pay it, and where the payment is coming from. Comenity Bank does allow cardholders to set up automatic payments, too.
Ways to Make an Ulta Credit Card Payment
- Online: Log in to your online account and click on “Pay Now” or use the EasyPay feature in order to pay your bill.
- By phone: Call 1 (866) 257-9195 and enter your card information when prompted, then follow the prompts to make a credit card payment.
- By mail: Send a check or money order (but not cash) to Comenity Capital Bank / PO Box 183003 / Columbus, OH 43218-3003. Make sure to send it early enough that it will arrive by the due date. Write your credit card number on the check, too.

@m_adams
The credit score you need for an Ulta Credit Card is 700 or better. That means people with at least good credit have a shot at getting approved for this card. The Ulta Store Card, though, has more lenient approval requirements, as it accepts people with at least fair credit (640+).
You should note that while your credit score is an important factor, there are plenty of other things that will impact your chances of being approved for...

Yes, Ulta does have a credit card. It comes in two types: the Ulta Store Card (which can only be used at Ulta) and the Ulta Credit Card (which works everywhere). Both Ulta credit cards are issued by the same bank and offer the same perks on Ulta purchases. For instance, both give 20% off your first purchase. However, the Ulta Credit Card offers rewards on purchases made elsewhere, too.

You can get approved for the Ulta Credit Card in as little as 60 seconds. If you don't get approved immediately after applying, it's because the issuer needs more time to verify your information. The Ulta Credit Card does a hard pull on your credit when you apply for it.
You will need at least a good credit score to get it, which is more than most store cards require, but you will be able to use it anywhere Mastercard is accepted.
Ulta might also offer you a pre-approval via mail or in stores. While a pre-approved offer only results in a soft pull, it doesn't guarantee...

Horrible. It was very hard to find a way to pay other than automatic payments. I finally found a phone number, but no one answered. A few days later, I was able to speak with someone, but they were not well-trained and were unprofessional. This wrecked my credit score- because of their incompetence.

When I signed up for this card in the store, the cashier told me it was just a rewards card and not an actual credit card. I used it once and missed a payment because I didn't know it was a credit card, and it negatively affected my credit score. They were very misleading about what it actually was. I stopped using it for a few years but decided to try it again and had a new card sent to me, with the understanding that I had a $100 credit. When I went to use the card, it would always say the purchase was 'not complete'. When I tried to figure out why, I was told I had a block on my account and it would need to be reinstated. It didn't go through, and I'm not able to use the card, yet they sent me a new one and said I had available credit. Very misleading in everything they do, and it is frustrating and not worth it.

The statement was sent to the old address, so I had forgotten the cutoff time since I did not receive the bill. They never accepted that it was not my fault the statement was sent to the old address and refused to reverse the late fee. Please note, the cut off time was missed by half an hour not even an hour. This was not fair, and I would not do business with them anymore.

Sometime last year I thought I submitted a payment but allegedly it didn't go through. ALLEGEDLY... For some reason I only have issues with Ulta/Comenity. I made my payment immediately when I found out but was still hit with a late fee. I asked for a one time comp to be told they can only take off $10 out of $30. I closed the account immediately. Who are you to think I need you? Y'all need us! Fast forward to the now, I randomly setup autopay several weeks back for the remainder of the balance and of course this scammy company takes forever to jumpstart autopay. Every other CC I have started immediately. They all say 1-2 billing cycles but still starts immediately. Of course trash Comenity says to check your statements for an official start date. I went to double check but there was nothing on the statement. I call in a few days after my due date realizing they didn't take their money to be met with some combative, argumentative yt man who thought he was going to talk over me. I continued talking over him most of the times he tried to interrupt me and the 2 times I did stop talking when he interrupted me I gave him a stern "As I was say..." to let him know I shall be continuing on with what I said. Not sure who these clowns are talking to but this is my money. You would not be sitting your portly behind on the phone, employed without us. Some of these CS reps get too big for their britches and this is why a lot of them get cursed out. He's lucky I was actually have a great day because let it had been a day I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Stern would've been a word in my rearview.

I was charged a late fee for a bill I mailed on time. When I asked to have the late fee decision reviewed, I was told that it wasn't an option. So, I closed the account, and I will provide a similar review on all possible forums.

If I could give 0 stars, I certainly would. Never open an Ulta credit card! There is no way to pay your bill in the store, and there is also no way to pay your bill online. You have to call the number on the back of your credit card and provide all your bank account details. They don't charge you immediately, but only after a few days. This is incredibly inconvenient because you must constantly check the balance on your Ulta credit card to ensure you don't get charged interest. If you try to pay your bill again because you're concerned your payment didn't go through, they'll charge you about $30! Furthermore, you will need to make about 15 calls to customer service to talk to someone about the payment issue. Never open this credit card. I'm canceling my Ulta credit card and will no longer shop in Ulta stores. I am now contacting representatives of the Ulta store chain. Today, you lost a customer who brought you about $500 a month in revenue. Change your credit card payment system so you don't lose more customers.

I am a credit card based consumer and by far the WORST credit card I've ever owned. BEWARE! Late charges $39.99 plus $40 fees. There are other credit cards that offer incentives and really worth having. This was a HUGE mistake. Sounds great at first but can't say that now. My credit limit was at $400. I lost my job and missed some payments and although I did not use my card the balance went up to $1400. ?I pay what I can and still I get calls 6-7 times a day including weekends, don't get me started on the text messages. No matter what the account balance continues to go up with or without payments made.

Only use it at Ulta, and buyer beware. I have put this card at the bottom of my shoebox! They don't accept or listen to the account user. If you tell them you didn't authorize the purchase, they don't care. If you tell them you didn't receive the merchandise, they don't care. Oh yes, they will open a fraud case but come back later and say it's not fraud.
I don't have any problems with my other Mastercards. But this credit card company, Bread or Comenity or Ulta Mastercard, doesn't take the side of the user.
I have filed a complaint with the BBB against this company and the less reputable company that has no real address to write a Google review to warn others.
Now, put this card back, and use another like Discover, Mastercard, your bank card, Costco card, etc. At least, those companies take the side of the payer/user.
Also, for the company representatives reading these emails, I am going to keep posting negative reviews and cost you more money than it would to do the right thing. LOL!?
