What disqualifies you from unemployment in Arizona? ›

If the claims office determines that the last employer justifiably discharged the claimant for misconduct, or that the claimant quit the last employer without good cause in connection with the work, benefits will be denied for as long as he/she is currently unemployed.

If you quit a job, get discharged, refuse referral to a job, refuse a job, refuse to enter DWS-approved training, or fail to complete DWS-approved training, you may be disqualified. You and/or your employer may appeal an unfavorable nonmonetary determination.

Weekly Benefit Amount

Your WBA will be between $73 and $577 (minimum and maximum weekly benefit amounts in Texas) depending on your past wages. To calculate your WBA, we divide your base period quarter with the highest wages by 25 and round to the nearest dollar.

Amount and Duration of Unemployment Benefits in Arizona

If you are eligible to receive unemployment, your weekly benefit in Arizona will be 4% of the wages you earned in the highest paid quarter of the base period. In 2024, the most you can receive per week is $320; the least you can receive is $224.

Unemployment insurance benefits are reduced in proportion to the hours your employer reduces the normal work week. For example, if an employee normally works a 40-hour week and you reduce their work by eight hours a week, they would be eligible to collect 20% of their weekly benefit amount.
