To successfully remove a device, follow the steps below. You'll need to complete all stepsfor both your Android device and your PC in order to successfully unlink your device.
Step 1: Complete unlinking steps on your Android and Surface Duo devices
Start by checking which mobile app your Android device has. Refer to this list to see if your device supports Link to Windows (pre-installed). If your device is not in this list, skip to the next section.
If you have the Link to Windows (pre-installed) app on your Android device:

Go toSettings > Connected Devices > Link to Windows >About Link to Windows.
or
Swipe downwards from the top of your screen to reveal Quick Panel, and then selectLink to Windows.

Click your Microsoft account.

Scrolldown to Link to Windowswhere you will see your previously used Microsoft account andemail address.

Click Remove account.

Move on to the "Step 2" section further belowto finish unlinking.
If you have Link to Windowson your Surface Duo:

Open the Link to Windowsapp by going into the Quick Access panel, and then tap and hold the Link to Windowsicon.

TapAccount, and then tap theemail address.

Scroll downto Your account - Link to Windows, and then click the email address.

Click Remove account.

Move on to the "Step 2" section further belowto finish unlinking.
If you have Link to Windows (downloaded)on other select Android devices:

On your select Android device, open theLink to Windowsapp.

In the upper right-hand corner, tap the Settings icon.

Tap Accounts.
-
Find the Microsoft account, and thentapSign out.

Move on to the "Step 2" section belowto finish unlinking.
Step 2: Complete unlinking steps on your PC

On your PC, open your browser, go tohttps://account.microsoft.com/devices/android-ios, and then sign in with your Microsoft account.

You’ll be presented with a list of all your connected devices. For each, select Unlink.

Go back to the Phone Linkon your PC, and then close and reopen the app to apply the unlinking changes.
Your device is now unlinked. You can continue to use any other linked devices with thePhone Link. If you'd like to use an unlinked device with Phone Linkagain in the future, you will need to relink such devices again.
