The following is a list of all sites and settlements in the core series Pokémon games and their populations from each game it has appeared in, presented in order of region.
Notes
Notes: A most recent in red means that it is actually not most recent. Two hyphens means the city/town did not appear in that game. A question mark represents unfilled out information.

Distinction between cities and towns
There are 56 cities and 33 towns in the core series Pokémon games along with 16 other settlements. There is no clear boundary between the two—Cherrygrove City, the smallest city, has a population of 22 while the two largest towns, Azalea and Solaceon, both have a population of 31. However, in general, most cities have populations over 30 and most towns under 30. The median town has a population of 19, while the median city has a population of 45.
Most Gyms are located in cities; only five Gyms are not. The eight settlements that lack a Pokémon Center are towns. The remaining towns and cities all have Pokémon Centers.
On the Hoenn PokéNav map and the Sinnoh Town Map, cities are colored red and towns are colored blue.
