You can use ASA 5550 for routing between VLANs and as a router-on-a-stick configuration. It supports routing features like static routes, dynamic routing protocols (e.g., OSPF), and VLAN interfaces. You can create VLAN interfaces on the ASA and route traffic between them.
The ASA 5550 comes with Gigabit Ethernet ports. It has multiple Gigabit Ethernet interfaces for connecting to your network. You can expect to have 1 Gbps speed on each of its Ethernet ports.
