Sweet Pink & Red Dessert Charcuterie Board For Valentine’s Day (or Galantine’s Day)

Make this Valentine’s Day dessert charcuterie board for a sweet snack! Fill it with anything red & pink to celebrate the Holiday.

This dessert board is surprisingly simple to make, thanks to the store-bought cookies, cupcakes, and candies. All you need is a large serving platter and some goodies to put on it. Just remember that while I will show you what I used to make it, you can use anything you want. There are so many cute pink and red options of candy, chocolates, cookies, snacks, etc.

What You Need To Make It

  • Cupid’s Mix M&M’s – These are the red, pink, and white mix of m&m candies.
  • Golden Oreos – Use regular golden Oreos or the thin ones. You could also use the chocolate Oreo cookies or the dark chocolate Oreo cookies instead.
  • Lindt Lindor Milk Chocolate Truffles – These are the perfect for this dessert board because of the red wrapper on them. The Lindt white chocolate truffles or even the strawberries & cream truffles have pretty white and light pink wrappers on them. Use a mix of all three of just one!
  • Twizzler Bites
  • Cherry Lifesavers – You can also use gummies. I have even seen X and O packs of gummy lifesavers that would be so cute.
  • Pink Lofthouse Cookies – These are the store-bought cookies with the light pink frosting on them.
  • Pink Mini Cupcakes – Again, make your life easy and buy them at the bakery. Or of course, you can always make them yourself too.
  • Strawberry Wafer Cookies
  • Strawberry Pocky Sticks
  • Heart Shaped Marshmallows
  • Pink Jumbo Marshmallows
  • Party Toothpicks – This is an optional thing, it is just to make skewers with the marshmallows. You can just put the marshmallows onto the dessert board with the toothpicks (as pictured), or just omit the marshmallows all together and choose something else.

How To Create a Valentine’s Day Charcuterie Board

Learn how to make the simple dessert board loaded with all the cute Valentines candy and colors! The best thing about this “recipe” is that there is no wrong way to do it. Make it your own, be creative, and use anything you want.

  1. Gather all your sweets & treats and your favorite large white platter. It doesn’t have to be white, you can use anything you have like a wooden platter or even a Valentine’s themed serving tray.
  2. Grab a small bowl, or other small candy holder, and place it in the center of the platter. Fill it with m&m’s.
  3. Add the golden Oreo cookies creating a flow platter down the center of the platter. Overlap the Oreo cookies to create kind of a falling domino type look.
  4. Place the smaller sized treats, like the Twizzler bites and lifesavers into small bowls, and place one on each side of the platter.
  5. Fill in the remaining negative space with the remaining treats.

What Are Some Other Candy & Chocolates I Can Use?

My favorite part about dessert boards! Use anything, literally, anything you want. I love slowly cruising the Valentine’s candy aisle at Target or Walmart and just picking out all the pink and red stuff. Here are some other ideas that would work great on this dessert board.

And remember it does not even have to be found in the Valentine’s candy aisle. There are plenty of red and pink options elsewhere.

  • Hershey’s Hugs & Kisses – They have these wrapped in pink and red foil wrappers for the Holiday.
  • Dove Heart Chocolate – These are the best because they are shaped like a heart and wrapped in pretty red or pink foil.
  • Hershey’s Hearts
  • Pink Starbursts – Buy a bag of the ‘All Pink Starburst’ and add them to the board.
  • Lindt Lindor Truffles – I know these are already on the list of ingredients for the board, but I want to add that there are so many festive options to use. White chocolate strawberries & cream come in a pretty light pink wrapper, the white chocolate ones, or I have even seen some strawberry dark chocolate truffles that come in a darker pink wrapper. All would be perfect for this dessert charcuterie board. I prefer using some of all of them that way you get all the colors.
  • Heart Shaped Cookies – Trader Joe’s sells some delicious chocolate covered heart cookies (with sprinkles) and those are a great option. Look at the bakery at the grocery store and use any of the heart shaped or Valentines themed treats there.
  • Gummies – You can always find heart shaped gummies this time of year.
  • Sweethearts Conversation Hearts
  • Cinnamon Jelly Hearts
  • Pink Reese’s Hearts
  • Circus Animal Cookies – The pink and white covered animal crackers with sprinkles.
  • Homemade Goodies – If you’re wanting to avoid the store-bought treats then try making some Sheet Pan Sugar Cookie Bars (pink icing with Valentine’s sprinkles). Or make your favorite Rice Krispie treat recipe and drizzle some pink candy melts over top and some sprinkles. You can also use a heart shaped cookie cutter to create hearts from a pan of brownies, cookie bars, or rice krispy treats.

How To Store Leftovers

After the party or gathering, whatever leftover snacks and treats are not eaten, simply store them in individual bags or containers. Obviously if they are already in a wrapper then they’re good to go.

Make sure to store leftover cookies, cupcakes, licorice bites, gummies, basically anything you took out of the wrapper or packaging in Ziploc bags or Tupperware type containers.

Charcuterie Board Tips

Here are a few of my tips so that you can have success recreating this dessert charcuterie board in your own kitchen ♥

  • Small Bowls/Containers For Smaller Candies : I love buying some heart shaped plastic bowls (you will find them in the Valentine’s Day aisles at most stores) to put the smaller candies inside; like the m&m’s, lifesavers, and Twizzler bites.
  • Create Dimension : When making dessert boards it’s important, and more pleasing to the eye, to create height, shapes, and other dimension on the board. Like making a wave patter with the Oreo cookies, or putting the smaller candies inside a serving bowl, and try to get different sizes and an assortment of goodies for your board.
  • Make It Heart Shaped : Use the treats and candies to create a heart shape with them on the serving board or platter.
