Valve is on a roll releasing multiple significant updates for CS:GO 2 days in a row. Yesterday, they introduced long-awaited changes to the VAC ban policy concerning Valve-sponsored tournaments, like the CS:GO Majors and RMR events. Today on 17 April 2021, Valve has once dropped a huge update, as they introduce more trade and market restriction to CS:GO. This change directly impacts the trading, buying, and selling of items between players, Steam Community Market, or third party websites. However, the Counter-Strike community is not at all happy with these changes, criticizing Valve for implementing an alternate solution to the server load problem that had resulted in a recent ‘CS:GO Market Sales and Item Trades’ service outage.

Valve implements more trade and market restrictions for CS:GO
In an update released by Valve earlier today, the developer has come forward to introduce multiple trades and market restrictions to CS:GO. This has resulted in a lot of negative backlash from the community members who are not at all pleased with the following changes,
- Items purchased from the in-game store will not be tradable/marketable for one week.
- Operation Cases redeemed as an operation reward will not be tradable/marketable for one week.
- Items received from market-restricted containers will continue to be sellable immediately on the Steam Community Market.
This means that any item purchased from the CS:GO store and any ‘Operation Case’ that is purchased using the ‘Operation Rewards’ also known as ‘Stars’ (that users can earn by completing weekly missions), will not be tradable or marketable for at least 1 week. However, items that users receive from containers that are not tradable or marketable (market-restricted containers), can still be sold immediately on the ‘Steam Community Market’ though still being non-tradable.
