Picked my new Toyota up this morning and I’m just trying to set up the MyT app on my phone. The first thing I’m asked to do is ‘Veryify Vehicle’ where I need to enter a figure from the V5 document.
Never having needed the V5 before with any of the other cars I’ve had on the scheme, can anyone please advise who holds the V5 and how do I get the figures needed for the app?

You can ask them for a copy or just the info you need. Probably the VIN at a guess, but that is viewable via left hand side wind screen.

Thanks for the help. I spoke with Motability but my V5 hasn’t arrived with them yet. The information the MyT app says I need is the ‘Version Code’ if that helps anyone.

Have you asked the dealer, FiestaRed. They will probably have it.

In this case maybe not as I had asked them to set up the MyT app if they could. They probably reached the same stage as I was at when asked for the Version Code from the V5.

@FiestaRed I have found this video and watched it through, Maybe it will help. I don’t see anywhere where it asks for that information you ask about.

I have a Toyota Carolla and use the app a lot, I’ve not entered any details from the V5, I did have to switch the head unit on when prompted by the app set up to prove it was mine if I remember correctly. I do remember being asked for V5 details but didn’t bother and all features on the app work I don’t think anything is missing.

That is why I posted the above video. No where does it mention info from V5

When you’re on the Toyota site and it asks for version code, you can click on what is version code and up comes a little photo of what to look for on the V5 document ??

Thanks for the reply Marc. It’s the online app that’s different, I’ve got the mobile app working now.

Yes, I don’t think I was asked for the V5 info in the app but it is there on line and is needed to unlock all features I’ve not done it and I can’t see any features that are locked so I don’t know what it adds.
Do you have the latest map on your car? It should be version 2021 v1, you get 3 years updates free of charge, when I had mine in December 2020 it did not have the latest map. Be aware the download is 12Gb, you then unzip it to a memory stick and insert in the car to load onto the head unit, it takes about 1hr 15mins to load and the hybrid system needs to be switched on to do it.

Thanks for the reply Marc. I’ve not got around to the map side of things yet, I’m not even sure how to check which version I have.

It’s located on the inside first page under ‘version’ . It’s the first 7 part of that longe number, a combination of letters and numbers. I entered that into the app and it brought up the whole service history of the vehicle. Mine is a toyota avensis.
