Water is a precious resource and the processing and distribution of water will also result in carbon emissions. By reducing water usage, we can lower our water bills and protect the environment by conserving clean water resources and cutting down the generation of wastewater.
During building rehabilitation, any leakage in water pipes should be fixed to prevent wastage, and low-flow water fixtures can be installed to save the use of water and reduce the consumption. Water saving can be achieved by choosing products with Grade 1 water efficiency label as registered under the Voluntary Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme. The scheme classifies different models of water taps, showers, urinal equipment, flow controllers, etc. based on their flow rates or flow volume per cycle, with Grade 1 products being the most water efficient and Grade 4 products the least efficient.
