1 Assess the situation
The first step is to understand why your boss is not recognizing your value and contributions. Is it because they are too busy, distracted, or overwhelmed? Is it because they have different expectations, standards, or priorities? Is it because they have a personal bias, a communication gap, or a conflict of interest? Or is it because they are insecure, threatened, or jealous of your performance? Try to be objective and empathetic, and avoid jumping to conclusions or taking things personally.

My advice is not to worry too much about the situation. This is something we cannot change as we cannot change the way other people act or think about us. So the best thing is to think about what we can do and what actions we can take. One of the best actions to take is to look for potential attention from other parties.

2 Communicate your needs
The next step is to communicate your needs and expectations to your boss. Don't assume that they know what you want or need, or that they will notice your achievements without you telling them. Instead, be proactive and assertive, and share your goals, challenges, accomplishments, and feedback with your boss regularly. Use facts and evidence to support your claims, and focus on the value and impact of your work. Also, ask your boss what they expect from you, how they measure your success, and how they prefer to communicate and receive information.

3 Seek recognition elsewhere
The third step is to seek recognition elsewhere, if your boss is not willing or able to provide it. Look for other sources of validation, such as your peers, mentors, clients, or external partners. Ask them for feedback, testimonials, endorsem*nts, or referrals. Share your achievements and best practices with them, and learn from their experiences and insights. Also, seek recognition from yourself, by celebrating your wins, rewarding yourself, and acknowledging your strengths and areas of improvement.

4 Build your network
The fourth step is to build your network, both within and outside your organization. Networking can help you increase your visibility, credibility, and influence, and open up new opportunities for growth and development. Connect with people who share your interests, values, and goals, and who can support, inspire, and challenge you. Participate in events, projects, committees, or communities that showcase your skills and expertise. Also, offer your help, advice, or resources to others, and show your appreciation and gratitude.

5 Evaluate your options
The fifth step is to evaluate your options, and decide whether you want to stay or leave your current position or organization. If your boss is not recognizing your value and contributions, you may feel unhappy, dissatisfied, or stuck in your career. You may also face negative consequences, such as lower pay, fewer opportunities, or reduced morale. In that case, you may want to consider looking for a new job, a new boss, or a new career path. However, before you make any decision, weigh the pros and cons, and explore the alternatives.

6 Take action
The final step is to take action, and implement the changes that you want to see in your situation. Whether you choose to stay or leave, you need to take charge of your career, and pursue your goals and aspirations. Don't let your boss's lack of recognition hold you back, or define your worth or potential. Instead, focus on your value and contributions, and seek feedback, recognition, and support from others. Also, keep learning, growing, and improving, and showcase your achievements and impact.

This situation would depend largely on a few things... Did this behavior just start? Or has the boss always been this way? How long has this person been your boss? Feedback and recognition can go a long way with employee rentention. If your boss if failing to communicate with you, then you should approach your boss. Otherwise, you're failing to communicate in an area that could ultimately yield long-term benefits for a business.
