Hi. It just means your apps are fighting harder for real memory (the 1 or 2 GB used by the processor, not storage). Maybe you're viewing web pages with lots of decoration (ads). Maybe you're playing a game with intensive graphics, editing high-res photos, etc. These are just logs, not errors, and you should ignore them. Your device might run a little faster if you close (force quit) apps you're not using, especially memory-hungry ones.

I'm not sure you want to know the detail of jetsam events, you would have to read Apple developer documentation to get all the details but there are posts that try to explain it…

https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-iOS-jetsam-and-how-does-it-exactly-work

It is complex & can be normal this is why we need to know what problems you are actually seeing - e.g. If all apps are reloading when you open them (to the clean 'first launch state') maybe you need to reinstall the OS. Seeing jetsam logs is not a sign of anything in general.

'awdd' is also another log that is normal…

What does (awdd) mean

It is simply diagnostics that get sent to Apple to help with their own services.

You may just want to stop looking at logs - they are only useful if you know what you are looking at & are looking for specific problems.

Post a link to your new topic if you want us to follow you there.

'Jetsam' is exactly when memory is low. You may be confusing memory (RAM) and storage (disk space).

I have no idea what else to tell you, you have provided no information or context. Create a new topic with some actual detail if you hope to do anything about it.

Do you have a problem or are you simply assuming these messages are the problem?

Jestam events are how iOS is meant to work, as such you cannot stop them (which is probability why this thread is not solved after 2 years). Memory is limited on iOS so it will remove apps from memory as part of it's normal operation.

Your device is also not an iPad running iOS 8, so I can't really see how it is related to this old topic.

For the final time - if you have a problem explain what that is, ideally in your own topic or you can continue to post here & hope some has a better idea, but I don't think these messages are a sign of anything (maybe I am wrong, in which case please enlighten me).

These are logs. When you sync with iTunes it copies the logs onto the Mac/ PC. If these bother you disable the diagnostics logging…

Settings > Privacy > Diagnostics & Usage.

There is little to nothing you can do about these on iOS besides updating your iOS versions & updating any related apps, if you have crashes contact the relevant developer, then they may be able to use the logs.

JestamEvents appear to occur when memory is low (this is not the 'storage', this is RAM). They may simply be logged when the OS is doing what it needs to do.

Hi. Please post your question separately, so people will see it. Explain exactly what the problem is, which device and iOS version. All parts of iOS are installed in updates from Apple, and the WebKit is part of that system. Is there an app you're not sure about, or maybe some web data stored by Safari?

I bought my iPhone 7 - 32 GB exactly 2 months ago. Since then I have had about 10 random frozen time. What I mean by frozen time is that regardless of the screen is on or off, no place on screen is responsive and both home button and power button doesn't work (home button vibrates when pressed but doesn't do its job). If the screen is off, it stays off, if it is on it stays on for about a minute and then comes back on. It happened on different apps and times. Example 1: home screen, no apps running. Example 2: whatsapp while writing a message. Example 3: camera taking photos.

I have deleted all data and set up as a new iPhone 2 times. It didn't help. I suspect my device was defect at purchase. I have owned and used an iPhone 5 for 4 years and I have had no frozen time, ever. Regarding free space, I always have at least 18-20 GB free space. I cut and paste photos to PC almost every two weeks. Also almost no apps are installed. I like my iPhone clean with minimum apps and photos on it but still I am the one who got those frozen times...

Also another extremely annoying thing is, when I am on Twitter, Twitter stops loading tweet replies. But once I close the app and re-run it immediately opens everything. I have deleted and reinstalled Twitter at least 5 times. Again, no help...

As a result of these events I've looked into usage data list and only thing I see is too many jetsamevent on a single day. In a course of 5 hours, there is 9 of them. My question is what should I do? Shall I set up as a new iPhone or do this phone has some hardware fault? I have never dropped it or ever got any water on it. Its like brand new but I really do suspect something is wrong inside. A faulty A10 chip maybe? Is it possible to be unlucky like this? Or is it not possible to have a defect device?

Hi. Regarding your iPhone 7 freezes, I suggest that you post in the Using iPhone forum (this is Using iPad). You may find other users with the problem over there. The jetsam events occur when the processor memory is almost full and apps are told to release any memory they can. You may be running an app that downloads a lot of data. Browsing websites with lots of ads can produce this. The log files are dated, so you can see if they seem to be linked to the freeze-ups.

I do have a problem! Maybe you can help me. My phone gets hot when charging. I looked it up and they said check diagnostic and usage for rogue apps. JetsamEvemt and periodic-io-microstackshot keep reoccurring. I deleted the apps sammydress and wish.
