Home Max was Google’s largest smart speaker up to date. With size 7.5” by 13.3” by 6.1” (33.5 x 18.7 x 15 cm) and weighing almost 12 lbs. (5.3 kg.), it was quite hefty, especially compared to rivals on the market such as Amazon Echo or Apple Homepod.
However, the great size came with great sound quality, which was also one of its main selling points. Other specifications for the model were the 3.5 mm AUX jack and the USB-C port.
Google didn’t provide an official reason for discontinuing the product. Home Max just suddenly showed as “sold out” on Google Store.

When Was Google Home Max Discontinued?

On May 7, 2019, the Google Home Hub was rebranded and renamed to the Google Nest Hub. On May 25, 2021, an update for the Preview Program released to the first generation model replaced the Linux-based Cast OS with Google Fuchsia, becoming the first commercial device to ever feature the operating system.
"We've sold out of Google Home Max and will no longer be manufacturing the device," a Google spokesperson confirmed in a statement following an earlier report by Engadget. "With the launch of Nest Audio, we're offering a range of great home audio solutions, particularly with two Nest Audios paired for stereo sound."
Potential causes include audio interference, a muted microphone, Google Home being slow or buggy, incorrect recording, and an operating system bogged down by existing data.

Google currently offers two smart displays: the second-generation Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max. The Google Nest Hub is the better overall smart display thanks to its compact design and Soli radar sensor.The Google Nest Hub Max has a bigger screen and includes a camera.
Google Home devices now go by the Nest moniker, bringing all of Google's smart home devices—thermostats, security cams, smart speakers—under the Nest brand.
First, make sure: Your speaker or display is powered on and plugged into a wall outlet. You're using a supported iOS or Android device. Your Google Home app is up-to-date.
For example, anyone in your home, including a guest, may be able to activate the speaker and display devices in your home by saying, "Ok Google," “Hey Google,” or using a different activation method such as a press and hold on your device.
If your Google Assistant doesn't work or respond to “Hey Google” on your Android device, make sure Google Assistant, Hey Google and Voice Match are turned on: On your Android phone or tablet, go to Assistant settings, or open the Google Assistant app. and say, “Assistant settings.”
First, make sure: Your Google Nest or Home speaker or display is powered on and plugged into a wall outlet. The microphone isn't muted. For Google Home: On the back of the device, touch the microphone mute button.
Choose Payments & subscriptions and then Subscriptions.Choose Max in your list of subscriptions and then Cancel subscription. Can't find it? Make sure you're signed in with the same Google account you used to purchase your subscription.
