This is parody correct? If this was not an attempt at satire, or humor, than I am sincerely worried about the cognitive abilities of the author.
Is readily known that the concern that "switchblade" or "butterfly" knives originates from the portrayal of said knives in film and television during the first half of the twentieth century.
Any modern folding knife is just accessible. Or if someone is intent in on committing violence with a bladed object, a kitchen knife works perfect well - as is evident by the fact that the majority of the "knife crimes" in the UK's "knife crime epidemic" of the past decade. The policy have readily documented the type of bladed object used in these crimes, and in excess of 80% are committed with HOUSEHOLD CUTLERY - despite the fact that carrying even kitchen knives in public is illegal in the UK.
In fact the increasing amount of regulations/prohibition that have been passed by Parliament to address UK knife has no impact on the still increasing annual number of these crimes - in this regard, these laws banning the carry and ownership knives that are described "more dangerous" are corellated with an INCREASE in KNIFE CRIME. That is factually undeniable.
So hopefully it is understood why I ask if this is parody - as REALITY stands in stark contradiction to the claims made in this article - and to humorous degree.
Worse still, these overwhelmingly impact people of color disproportionately.
So please tag this as parody in the byline when you have time.
