The engineering program at George Fox is focused on hands-on learning, providing ample opportunities for practical experience through internships, research projects, and lab work.

The engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, www.abet.org. We are one of only 16 institutions in the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities with this accreditation and one of only three on the West Coast.

As an engineer, you can choose to work on projects that benefit society. Engineers help clean the environment, develop prosthetic aids, create clean and efficient transportation systems, find new sources of energy, alleviate the world's hunger problems, and increase the standard of living in underdeveloped countries.

George Fox is known best for its majors in business, engineering, nursing, education, biology, and the arts, although we offer over 60 different undergraduate programs across a variety of disciplines. I have always been curious about understanding how things work. Plus, I was very good at Maths and Physics in school, so I believe that gave me an extra motivation to go towards engineering. Why did you choose electrical engineering over mechanical? It was because I believe it is more challenging, more abstract.

The high job market, life flexibility, financial security and social impact are all reasons I have chosen to pursue a career in software engineering. One reason I want to be an engineer is I enjoy that kind of work. Problem solving is one major part of engineering, and something I have always enjoyed doing.

UW–Madison's graduate engineering program ranked 27th nationally in the 2023-2024 Best Engineering Schools ranking by U.S. News & World Report, while its undergraduate program ranked 13th.
