Why did my swap transaction fail? | Crypto.com Help Center? ›

Occasionally, your swap transaction might fail due to an “Insufficient Output Amount” Error. Your input tokens will be reverted but the network fee (gas) will be spent.

Failed swap

A swap can fail because of a sudden shift in the exchange price between the cryptocurrencies you're trying to swap. We recommend waiting at least 60 seconds before retrying the transaction.

Common reasons for canceled transfers:

Coinbase detected potential security concerns. Your bank canceled due to insufficient funds, or potential security concerns. The transaction timed out due to prolonged confirmation screen. Buy limit has been reached.

Your card is either closed, or you have entered the wrong CVV or expiry date.

In this case simple troubleshooting steps may clear the issue. Start by disconnecting and then reconnecting your wallet. Then clear the cookies and the cache of app.uniswap.org in your browser or use a different browser. Try to reload the Uniswap web app by doing a hard refresh.

Select a slippage value between 0.1% and 30%. Any adjustments to slippage tolerance will persist as the default for the your next swap so be sure to check before each swap! Also we will warn you if slippage is set to over 5% so you don't accidentally overspend when swapping.

The most common one is related to liquidity constraints when swapping two (or even one) long tail assets. If that's the case we recommend dividing the swap into two swaps using the native token (or any main stablecoin like USDC or USDT) of the input chain as the pivot asset.

The most prevalent cause of transaction rejection is utilizing an insufficient fee or omitting the fee entirely. During periods of network congestion, low fees become more likely to hinder successful transaction completion.

Wallet secret recovery phrase

Coinbase Wallet generates a 12-word recovery phrase, also referred to as a seed phrase, that you and only you have access to. This means that if you lose your recovery phrase, you will lose access to your Coinbase Wallet and any funds secured by this recovery phrase will be at risk.

On MetaMask, when you try to trade a swap, you need to agree to a quote. Therefore, if the swap price exceeds the allowed slippage rate by 2-3%, the swap will fail. The reason the exchange fails is to prevent you from seeing a huge difference in value when the processing is done.
