People go to school for a multitude of reasons, and your perspective touches on some common motivations. Here are a few key reasons why people pursue education: 1. **Education and Knowledge:** One of the primary reasons people attend school is to acquire knowledge and develop critical thinking skills. Education broadens horizons, fosters curiosity, and equips individuals with the skills needed to understand and engage with the world around them. 2. **Career Opportunities:** Education often opens doors to better job prospects and career advancement. Many professions require specific degrees or certifications, making school a necessary stepping stone to pursue certain careers. 3. **Personal Growth:** School provides an environment for personal growth and self-discovery. It encourages the development of social skills, resilience, and the ability to adapt to new challenges. 4. **Validation and Credentials:** Earning a diploma or degree serves as validation of one's skills and knowledge. It can enhance self-esteem and signal to potential employers that an individual has met certain educational standards. 5. **Financial Stability:** While not the sole factor, education can significantly impact earning potential. On average, individuals with higher levels of education tend to earn more over their lifetimes. 6. **Passion and Interest:** Many people attend school to pursue subjects they are passionate about. Whether it's art, science, history, or any other field, education allows individuals to delve deep into their interests. 7. **Networking:** Schools provide opportunities to connect with peers, mentors, and professionals. Networking can lead to valuable relationships and career opportunities. 8. **Problem Solving:** Education equips individuals with problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and the capacity to analyze complex issues, which are valuable in both personal and professional life. 9. **Social Contribution:** Some people attend school with the goal of making a positive impact on society. They seek knowledge and skills to address pressing issues like healthcare, education, or environmental sustainability. 10. **Continuous Learning:** Lifelong learning is a vital aspect of personal and professional growth. School can instill a love for learning that extends beyond formal education. It's important to note that education doesn't end with school. Learning is a lifelong journey, and individuals can continue to educate themselves through various means, including online courses, workshops, and self-study. While formal education is valuable, it's just one part of a broader spectrum of learning opportunities available to people. The choice to pursue education should align with one's personal and professional goals, interests, and circ*mstances.

No. You don't have to. However, school curriculum is designed to educate you with the basic foundation of knowledge that could in turn make you successful in whatever you do in the future. For eg, if you want to do investing, at the minimum, you should know how to do maths and calculate your returns correctly.

Hello Julien, You've asked an excellent question. The traditional belief that a college degree is the only path to a substantial income is no longer entirely true. There are numerous alternative routes to mastering a skill and earning a solid income. For instance, I recently discovered that a welder could potentially earn up to $150K a year. Personally, my college journey was a valuable experience that equipped me for the professional world. Working together with my peers on projects and the dedicated effort needed to prepare for exams were all invaluable learning opportunities. As for your query about investing, it's important to note that while a college degree isn't necessary, having the initial capital to invest is. More importantly, possessing a solid understanding and practical sense of investing is crucial.

Julien, I suppose people go to school for many reasons, some better than others. Unfortunately, it's also true that some schools and teachers are better than others. Ideally, one goes to school to learn to think, to acquire knowledge, to develop the ability to work with diverse groups of people, and to develop skills for their future. Some of the subjects and material very likely will lead nowhere. Often things like memorization, conformity, production and obedience are stressed in schools more than thinking and growing as a unique individual. But we need to take from our experiences the good things and do the best we can with the rest. Society decided that schools are needed to prepare young people for the future. How they prepare them and what they prepare them for might not always be clear. But there will be many things school provides that will be useful, as you'll discover looking back.

I believe you’re asking about why people go to college as high school is required up until age 17 in most states. Going to college can be expensive depending on your circ*mstances. Yet there are so many different types of college options available to you beyond just getting a four-year bachelors degree. You can go to a technical college to get training in more of the hands-on fields. You can go to a community college to get certificates and one or two year degrees. For many people they are hopefully going on to get further education because they have a job in mind that they think they would like to do and that job probably requires some additional education. For example, I am a school counselor and in order to be one, I had to get my bachelors degree plus a masters degree in school counseling. For me, that was the right path, but everyone should do what they feel is best for them. Keep in mind you don’t have to go to college right after finishing high school either. You could choose to work for a while and save up your money and try different jobs to try and figure out what you think would be a good long-term career for you.

Hi Good morning! I think is necessary that people should go to school to learn how to read, write, discipline, social skills, common sense, focusness, etc.. It's not just the basic classes (which is super necessary for life) if not everything mentioned before.
