Gems are the only and most important currency in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, where players need them to open packs and get new cards.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is the most recent addition to the trading card game's franchise. Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is currently available on most major platforms, so players can easily get their hands on it. The cross-play feature also means duelists won't lose their progress if they want to play on multiple devices.
Just like its predecessors, Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel features various playstyles that include the mechanics of both old-school and modern Yu-Gi-Oh games, where duelists can enjoy up to Link Summon gameplay. Also, similar to the older games, getting cards in this game involve opening "packs" and praying to the Gacha God. To get these card packs, players have to spend a currency called Gems.

How To Get Gems In Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel
There are several methods for Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel players to get Gems:
- Buy from the shop
- Grind the scenario
- Level up the Duel Pass
- Grind the Mission
- Rank up
- Win duels
- Participate in Festivals
On Solo mode, players can play the scenario and learn about various types of decks. This mode also grants duelists various cards to support their deck, if they ever decide to play the featured pack. On the last "Duel" stage, if players use their own deck instead of the loaner's one, the game will grant 200 Gems on the first clear.
By far, there are more than ten Scenarios, one Duel Strategy, and one Tutorial in the Solo mode. With 1000 from Tutorial, 2400 from Duel Strategy, and 200 from each Scenario, duelists can amass over 5000 Gems.
Duel Pass also grants a handful of Gems. For reaching level 50, players will get 190 Gems. Meanwhile, the Gold version grants up to 600 Gems. The premium Pass needs to be purchased for 600 Gems, though.
There are various Missions and daily tasks for Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel players to complete and earn Gems from. At times, there are also special login events where duelists can amass numerous Gems quickly.
Among the available methods, the most certain way of gaining Gems is by ranking up in the duel.
For winning duels, players also have some chance to get a small number of Gems. However, note that the Gem reward is really low, so players have to keep playing to get a sufficient amount.
Lastly, on special occasions, Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel will also host special festivals. They always have a certain theme, so players will be locked from some cards when they play it. For instance, in the XYZ Festival, players can't own non-XYZ cards in their Extra Deck. Don't worry, though. The game also provides loaner decks, so everyone can participate even without having the correct cards.
This event grants a large number of Gems, so whenever it's available, duelists should try their best not to miss out.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
