"It's amusing to hear such allegations," Brown told Reuters. "The idea that I wouldn't be involved in such a crucial decision or that I wasn't supportive of signing Piastri is simply absurd. Anyone familiar with our sport will see through these claims."
Brown's response comes amid a legal battle between McLaren and Palou, with the team suing the driver for approximately $20 million after he reneged on his IndyCar contract with McLaren to stay with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2024. Palou admits to breaching the contract but disputes the amount owed.
Additionally, Palou claimed that Brown had offered to assist him in finding an F1 seat, a promise Brown denies.
