Of all the couponing apps, we talk about Ibotta all the time because we cannot live without it. Or at least we wouldn’t want to.
Here’s the skinny: Download Ibotta and start selecting rebates ranging from $0.25 – $5 on items you already buy, like milk, produce, eggs, wine, and beer.

Pro Tip: Triple-dip using Ibotta and Target’s app together on the same purchase (and then scan with Fetch). Stack a RedCard for an additional 5% off and some manufacturer coupons from the KCL app and you’re officially Krazy.
6. Use Checkout 51 for cash back on produce.
Checkout 51 is a receipt-based couponing app like Ibotta. But unlike Ibotta, offers aren’t store-specific. Instead you just tap the offer you want to redeem and scan your receipt through the app.
One place Checkout 51 shines is with their “Choose Your Own Offer,” usually $0.25 – $0.50 off an item. I use these on produce, which can be challenging to get discounts on in general. You can even get some things (bananas) for free when you redeem this offer.
Cash out through PayPal, gift card, or go old school and request a paper check in the mail. You need to have reached at least $20 in order to cash out.
7. Clip coupons and myWalgreens offers in the Walgreens app.
If you want to learn how to coupon at Walgreens, you need to get snuggly with the Walgreens app. It’s a hub for placing online orders, filling prescriptions, finding digital coupons, and even seeing a doctor. Drugstore couponing apps are necessary in order to save the most money when shopping.
But let’s focus on the couponing aspect of it. Whether you’re shopping in the store or through the app, you can “clip” coupons to apply to your order. In store, just enter your phone number and your qualifying coupons will automatically apply to your purchase.
Also, be sure to clip myWalgreens offers. These say something like “Get $5 Walgreens Cash when you spend $25.” When you reach the minimum amount you need to spend ($25 in this case, after coupons), you’ll get the $5 at checkout.
8. Download the CVS app for store coupons.
Rinse and repeat with CVS. In order to really know how to coupon at CVS, you need the CVS app. In this case, it’s because there are CVS app-only digital store coupons you definitely want to get your hands on.
Sure, the CVS app has manufacturer coupons, but it also has store coupons. To access these, just link your ExtraCare card, then tap “Deals & Rewards.” When you see an offer you like, tap “Send to Card” in order to redeem a coupon.
9. Earn points that translate into gift cards with the Shopkick app.
Shopkick is a rebate app that offers “kicks” (reward points) when you take certain actions either at a store or from home. Some of these actions require you to make a purchase, but others don’t. You can get points just for scanning items in a store, even if you’re not planning to buy them, for example.
Once you earn enough kicks, you can redeem them for gift cards to popular stores. Spend these gift cards on your groceries or to fund your couponing adventures if you’re trying to build a stockpile.
Most rewards come out to 250 kicks per dollar and follow this breakdown:

10. Use the Aldi app for exclusive deals every week.
Aldi is one of the best places to shop if you’re trying to save money on groceries because their regular prices are just so dang low. Unfortunately, Aldi doesn’t accept manufacturer coupons, but that’s why you need the Aldi app.

11. Make the ShopSavvy app your price-comparing bestie.
The ShopSavvy app is awesome because you can scan items at a store and it’ll show you the same item at other stores and what price each retailer is selling it for. Use this information to ask for another retailer’s price if you’re shopping at a store that offers price matching (like Target, Best Buy, and more).
12. Or use the Amazon app to get a lower Amazon price at Target.
The Amazon app also has a feature where you can scan products at a store like Target. If Amazon’s price is lower than Target’s (or another retailer that price matches Amazon), just ask for Amazon’s price at customer service.
13. Couponing apps for fuel savings? Yep. Check out GasBuddy and GasGuru.
Both the GasBuddy app and GasGuru app will help you compare fuel prices. When you know which gas station near you offers the lowest price, it’s easier to save money on fuel.

14. GoodRX
Did you know coupons for prescription medications exist? Yep. That’s why the GoodRX app is on this list. It’s a couponing app to save you money on meds.
To get your hands on GoodRx coupons, download the GoodRX app and type in the name of your prescription medication. That’s where you can see any available coupons for your specific medication.
“Clip” the coupon inside the app and show it to the pharmacist when you pick up your prescription. They will probably need to enter the code in the app, but your savings will be worth that extra step.
15. Answer surveys on the Swagbucks app for a bit of pocket change.
The Swagbucks app isn’t going to make you rich, not by a long shot. But if you think of it as an alternative to checking the news or social media on your phone when trying to kill time, it might be worth it.
How does it work? You’ll have the chance to complete tasks and then, once done, earn “Swagbucks” or points that convert into gift cards to popular retailers. Or even better, cold hard cash through a PayPal cashout. Keep in mind that this isn’t going to earn you a lot. At most, users report maybe $1,000 per year in earnings.

16. Shop online through Rakuten app at loads of retailers and get cash back.
Use the Rakuten app when you’re shopping online in order to earn a small percentage back. Rakuten partners with thousands of stores. When you shop through their app, you’ll get a certain amount in cash back, depending on the store.
Some stores (like Chewy) offer up to 10% back, others (like Instacart, which isn’t a store, but some place you shop online all the same), offer as little as 1% back.
Payment is through PayPal, and Rakuten will pay you once a quarter.
17. Play games or shop through the Drop app to earn gift cards.
The Drop app is like a mash-up of two other couponing apps: Rakuten and Swagbucks. Like both of those, you’ll earn points that translate into a reward. In this case, it’s gift cards to your favorite retailers (Amazon, Starbucks, Sephora, etc.). But with Drop, you can play games to accrue points or earn points by shopping your favorite brands (like Nike and Apple) through the app.
So whether you take actions to earn points like Swagbucks or you shop through the Drop app, like Rakuten, you’ll be rewarded.
