Can I block bidders with zero feedback? ›

Sellers can't block buyers with 0 feedback. There is no global block, but as happened to the OP, the seller can cancel their bid and then add them to the BBL.

No, you can't automatically block members with 0 feedback because EVERYONE starts at 0. You can start selling with cheaper, simpler to ship items so you minimize your risk of loss until you build up a reputation and sell higher priced items safely.

Blocking A Buyer

To block buyers with low feedback, go into my eBay and seller preferences and go to the blocked buyers list. Then you can go into buyer requirements and stop those with five feedback or less from being able to contact you.

When you place a buyer on your block list, it blocks them from buying from you. There is no block to prevent buyers from leaving feedback.

Blocked users will still be able to see your listings, but they will be unable to bid, make an offer or choose to 'Buy it now'.

Blocking a buyer on eBay

If you've had an issue with a buyer and don't want them to purchase or bid on your items, you can add them to your Blocked buyers list. They'll be unable to place bids or buy from you until you remove them from the list.

You can say whatever you want in your listings, but that would be unenforceable if a zero-fb member actually wins your auction. You would get a defect point for canceling the transaction.

You can find all of the feedback you've left for sellers in your Feedback profile - opens in new window or tab. Once you've left feedback, you won't be able to edit or delete it, unless you ask the seller to send you a feedback revision request.

The feedback percentage is for feedback received for the past 12 months. If they have not received any feedback in the past 12 months, it will show 0%.

They won't know they are blocked, unless you have told them, until they go to bid or buy. Then they receive a message that states, This seller is not accepting bids from you.

Can blocked buyers still contact me on eBay? ›

The communication block prohibits member ids on your BBL from contacting you through an item listing; however, they can still contact you through the links on your feedback page and your profile page.

You cannot block 0 feedback buyers - we all started at "0".

When you block a buyer, they can still see your listings but won't know they have been blocked until they try to bid or buy your product. At this stage, they receive the following message, “This seller is not accepting bids from you”. Ultimately, choosing when to block someone is up to you.

When you block a buyer on eBay, he will only be exempted from bidding and buying, not messaging. If you prefer blocking messages on eBay, you must get to your eBay Buyer Management page.

Block a buyer

Here's how to add a member to your blocked buyer list: Go to the Block bidders or buyers from your listings - opens in new window or tab page. Enter the buyer's username in the text box (you can add up to 5,000 usernames). Select Submit.

Sellers can't leave negative (or neutral) feedback for buyers because too many sellers were using the threat of negative retaliation to discourage less than positive feedback from buyers no matter how warranted it was.

If there is something about the bidder on the King book that makes you uneasy about selling to him/her, you may cancel his/her bid anytime up until the auction ends (you can also add him/her to your Blocked Bidder/Buyer List to prevent future bids/purchases by him/her).

Failure to pay for items is a violation of our abusive buyer policy. When a seller cancels an order because the buyer hasn't paid, the unpaid cancellation is recorded on the buyer's account. Buyers who have excessive unpaid cancellations may have limits imposed by a seller or by eBay, or lose their buying privileges.
