Biography[]
(From their official description) Bloodhound is known across the Outlands as one of the greatest game hunters the Frontier has ever seen. The child of two engineers stationed at the New Dawn industrial plant on Talos, Bloodhound was taken in by their uncle Artur after a meltdown destroyed the facility and killed both their parents. Artur taught them the Old Ways, a belief system that focuses on the glory of nature and rejects modern technology. Yet Bloodhound was constantly drawn to technological marvels, and ultimately used both new and old methods to take down a Goliath that preyed on the people of their village, forever changing their life’s path.
Appearance[]
Bloodhound’s face is always covered with a mask that has breathing tubes, goggles, and a hat. Most of their skin is completely covered in every outfit of theirs, except Young Blood, where some of their jaw, wrists, and fingers are exposed. In The Old Ways video, their face is mostly video, though they are still wearing goggles and a skullcap.
They typically wear a combination of cargo, armor, and feathers along with their mask/helmet.
Personality[]
Bloodhound is generally very mysterious. They believe in the old Norse gods of Earth and call upon the Allfather’s strength in battle.
Gender[]
Bloodhound has been canonically nonbinary ever since launch in February 2019. On the official page they are referred to with they/them pronouns, and the developers have confirmed this on their Twitter as well. Their voice actor has also confirmed that they have been regarded as nonbinary throughout development, with no canon assigned gender at birth. Apex Legends News has also confirmed this.
Additionally, they have interactions with Catalyst, a trans woman, saying “This heart recognizes yours,” and, “I trust your eyes to see the same world,” which many believe to be a reference to both characters being trans+.
Reaction[]
- This section is about fan reaction to the characters sexuality/gender identity. NOT THE IN UNIVERSE REACTION. In universe reactions would belong under sexuality/gender.

Relationships[]
Boone[]
Boone was Bloodhound’s ex-lover, about 20 years before present. He wanted to trap a legendary beast, the óséður, to be used in bloodsport in the Thunderdome, but Bloodhound disagreed as they thought this would disrupt the sanctity of the hunt. Boone captured the beast anyway, thus ending their relationship; once they found out, Bloodhound went to the Thunderdome to confront Boone, but their appearance distracted him and he was slain by the óséður. Because of this, Bloodhound offers their wins as gifts to the Allfather to allow Boone passage to Valhalla.
Fuse[]
Walter “Fuse” Fitzroy is Bloodhound’s current lover and fellow Legend. Their relationship was confirmed in October 2022 when a video was posted to the official Twitter, where Fuse and Bloodhound speak about their relationship while on a hunt, ending with a kiss amidst the fire of Fuse’s ultimate ability. In game, they have many flirtatious interactions, mainly when thanking each other.
