Yes, you can run both Firefox and Chrome. However, one will need to be the default browser. For example, Windows will need to know what browser to use when opening links in programs. Certain programs may be coded to only use Internet Explorer, so it is a good idea to leave that installed.
- Firefox: Tools -> Options -> Advanced Panel (General tab)-> (select) Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup -> Check Now
- Chrome: Wrench tool -> Options -> Basics (tab) -> Make Google Chrome my default browser

Thank You that helps a lot; I thought running Chrome instead of Explorer may be another option to me that's faster, but saying some programmes may not work with it made me think, the reason for my keeping in the first place was because some updates weren't connecting Firefox, so it probably be best to stick as I am wouldn't it?

Although you may occasionally run into the need to use Internet Explorer for certain programs, you can use it only when needed.Any updates to it will install automatically by Windows. Think of it as your 'back-up.' Chrome and Firefox can be your primary browsers but one will need to be the default. Regarding your other question, I understand that after updating Firefox, you cannot get an internet connection in it? Please correct me if I misunderstood you.
If so, this is probably caused by your security software.

No, I haven't installed it yet, I just saw that a couple of people had done so and claim that they were both crashing since.In terms of updates, my dvd burner and .AVI converter won't download them from firefox, so I think I'll probably just stick with Explorer for that and Firefox for day to day use.Chrome doesn't seem to be any faster or more improved than Firefox anyway does it?
