In Xfinity’s West and Central regions, Connect is the cheapest Xfinity cable internet service plan. With a maximum download speed of 150 Mbps and a 10 Mbps maximum upload speed, Connect works best for one- to two-person households that only use the internet for tasks like browsing Facebook or YouTube. Your bill will also increase (maybe by double) after your first year.
Count your fortunes if you’re a potential Xfinity customer in the Northeast: you get good Dunkin’ Donuts stores, better sports teams, and great Xfinity internet deals. In the Northeast region, Xfinity’s cheapest plan is Connect More. With 200 Mbps maximum download speeds and 10 Mbps upload speeds, the plan can handle multiple people who regularly stream TV shows and take video calls.
One of our writers has the 200 Mbps plan, and they don’t have any Wi-Fi or slowdown problems when sharing with two others in the household. Our editor, who’s had Xfinity’s cheapest internet before, does not recommend low speeds if you live in a household of three.
My old Xfinity internet plan was the cheapest available in the Western region at the time. Granted, it was a little slower than the current 75 Mbps that Xfinity offers, but my 50 Mbps plan was definitely not enough for my family. Our Xfinity internet buffered all the time, and it was a constant source of frustration.

How much internet speed do I need?
Generally, the cheapest internet plans are also the slowest internet plans. If you have a family that’s regularly video calling and online gaming, you’ll have bad internet performance on a internet plan with low download speeds.
For larger households that regularly use the internet, we’d—at minimum—recommend Xfinity’s 200 Mbps internet plans. But Xfinity’s 150 Mbps plans could be a fit if you’re getting service for yourself or a two- to three-person household that doesn’t regularly use the internet.
How does Xfinity promotional pricing work?
As with most internet providers, Xfinity offers promos that initially give you a lower internet price that increases down the road. These price hikes usually come after one or two years, depending on the exact internet plan.
If you’d rather not bite the bullet and pay a larger monthly internet bill, we’d suggest trying to negotiate with Xfinity, changing internet providers before your promo pricing ends, or downgrading your service.
Is Xfinitycheap or low-income internet worth it?
When picking a Xfinity cheap internet plan, we’d recommend evaluating your budget, internet speed needs, and each plan’s promotional pricing. By following our tips, you’ll be able to find the cheapest Xfinity internet plan that still offers great value and internet performance.
Overall, Xfinity offers reliable cable internet, TV, and phone service nearly nationwide, although we aren’t fans of the provider’s data caps or contract pricing.
