Dear Sellers,
I do not use eBay and I never will again.
I sold a piece of equipment, which was received by a Buyer, who confirmed it was in working order, was happy with the equipment and communicated our fast shipping and good communication in the transaction.
I expected our funds to be released, like any normal standard transaction in a day or two. But NO.
eBay decided to place a hold til 26 May, for no reason. I called to understand why this was even an issue, and was given a run around, company policy repeated at me x20 times. Even the "team leader" stuck to the script.
There is discretion as stated in their policy as advertised to the public on their site, that "holds are lifted when a buyer confirmed they've received their item". In this case it is clear cut - the item has been purchased, the item has been delivered. Why am I not receiving my funds for the sale of my item?
eBay is not a bank.
eBay is a global, billion dollar company who has made its money off the back of sellers like me.
eBay has my funds and is refusing to give them to me, after hours of my time clearly explaining the situation and clear record of the transaction in the messages.
eBay has no legal right to hold my funds, especially when I request them to be released to me after the Buyer has confirmed receipt, and the equipment is working order.
eBay has discretion to release funds, and has not and did not give me reasons as to why it is holding my funds.
eBay is now engaging in illegal, unauthorised holding of my funds.
eBay is not a company that stands for small business.
We deserve better than this eBay.
