Like all souls games, Elden Ring has a range of achievements that you can unlock as you progress through the game, and while some are easy to find, others can be remarkably obscure.
This guide will show you where you can find all the items and bosses needed to get 100% completion and that satisfying platinum trophy.
All but one of the game’s non-ending achievements can be completed after defeating the final boss but before moving on to New Game Plus.
Therefore before you reset the world and start over again, you should do everything you can while you have access to all the game areas.
This guide will contain spoilers, so if you haven’t beaten the game or would prefer to experience it all blind, now’s the time to stop reading.
The first set of achievements to go for are Boss Achievements.
Bosses
Elden Ring has more bosses than all previous FromSoftware games combined, so it’s not surprising that it has 30 bosses who offer an achievement when you beat them.
However, of these 30, only a few are necessary to beat the game, and many can easily be missed due to requiring NPC questline progression or obscure locations.
Firstly, here are the bosses that must be defeated to reach the end of the game and those that are extremely difficult to miss while following the main path.
Margit the Fell Omen: Although not technically required to beat the game, as you can skip Stormveil Castle entirely if you like, it is unlikely you’ll miss him, given the game guides you to his boss fight. He is found at the entrance of Stormveil Castle in Limgrave.
Shardbearer Godrick: One of the Shardbearer Demi-Gods whose defeat grants you a Great Rune. His boss fight is Godrick the Grafted and can be found at the end of the legacy dungeon Stormveil Castle in Limgrave. He can be skipped but is difficult to miss, like Margit the Fell Omen.
Red Wolf of Radagon: The first boss of the Raya Lucaria Academy Legacy Dungeon in Liurnia of the Lakes and found midway through the area. He must be defeated to progress to the rest of the Legacy Dungeon and, as a result, must be defeated.
Rennala, Queen of the Full moon: She is the final boss of the Raya Lucaria Academy Legacy Dungeon in Liurnia of the Lakes whose defeat is required to unlock one of the game’s endings and the ability to respec your character.
Godfrey the First Lord: Found at the end of Leyndell, Royal Capital, he must be defeated to reach the base of the Erdtree and the throne of the Elden Lord.
Shardbearer Morgott: The true form of Margit the Fell Omen’s boss fight is Morgott, the Omen King. Morgott must be fought to progress the main story and is found at the end of Leyendell, Royal Capital. Note: if you defeat Morgott, the Omen King, before Margit, the Fell Omen in Stormveil Castle, the Margit boss fight will no longer be available.
Fire Giant: Found at the end of the Mountaintops of the Giants and must be defeated to progress the game and gain access to the next area.
Godskin Duo: The first boss of Crumbling Farum Azula, the area accessed after Fire Giant and the Mountaintops of the Giants. Must be defeated to progress through the area and progress the game.
Maliketh the Black Blade: The final boss of Crumbling Farum Azula whose defeat marks the progression to the final stage of the game, converting Leyndell, Royal Capital into Leyndell, Ashen Capital. Note: defeating Maliketh the Black Blade permanently alters the game world and locks access to the Bolt of Gransax Legendary Armament.
Hoarah Loux the Warrior: The penultimate boss of Elden Ring is found at the end of Leyndell, Ashen Capital, where you previously fought Morgott, the Omen King. Once defeated, you gain access to the final boss of the game. Curiously, however, the final boss of Elden Ring does not have an achievement.
The remaining achievement bosses, who do not need to be defeated to complete the main storyline, have been listed below based on area and in relation to NPC questlines.
Limgrave – The Weeping Peninsula
Located in the south of Limgrave is the Weeping Peninsula, at the end of which is Castle Morne.
Leonine Misbegotten: The boss of Castle Morne is required for the Legendary Armaments Achievement as beating it gives you the Grafted Blade.
Liurnia of the Lakes
The area you access after Stormveil Castle, although it can be reached at any point in the game. It has one optional Achievement boss and is also where you start Ranni’s questline.
Royal Knight Loretta: The final boss of Caria Manor in the north of Lirunia of the Lakes. Once beaten, it also grants access to Ranni and the start of her questline.
Siofra River
This location can be accessed at any point through the lifts found in Limgrave and Caelid. The area is also part of Ranni’s questline, so you will naturally progress there if you’re doing it.
Ancestor Spirit: This boss is unlocked by lighting several beacon fires scattered around the Siofra River.
Caelid
This area to the right of Limgrave is well known for its abundance of Scarlet Rot. It can be accessed at any point in the game and has only one achievement boss.
Shardbearer Radhan: The final boss of Redmane Castle, located in the south of Caelid, can be fought at any point, However, it is advisable to do so after progressing Ranni’s NPC questline. His defeat is required to unlock several areas that contain achievement bosses.
Nokron, Eternal City
This area can be accessed after defeating Radhan in Limgrave and is required for Ranni’s questline. It has several optional achievement bosses.
Regal Ancestor Spirit: This spirit is unlocked by lighting several beacons in the open area before entering the city proper and overlooking Siofra River.
Valiant Gargoyle: Found by jumping down onto a series of platforms and walkways at the far end of the open area to an area known as the Siofra Aqueduct.
Mimic Tear: The boss of the city proper, it is encountered early in the area.
Ainsel River
The Ainsel River is located in the north of Liurnia of the Lakes along its eastern border or by following Ranni’s questline and using the gate found in Renna’s Rise. It can also be accessed by taking the coffin found after the Valiant Gargoyle boss fight. It has only one achievement boss.
Dragonkin Solider of Nokstella: The boss of Ainsel River is found in the South-Western part of the area.
Lake of Rot
It is accessed by progressing Ranni’s questline and travelling through Ainsel River and then Nokstella, the Eternal City. It has only one achievement boss.
Astel, Naturalborn of the Void: The final boss of the lake of Rot is accessed by getting into a coffin found at the end of the area.
Volcano Manor – Mt. Gelmir
This location can be accessed from the Altus Plateau or through teleportation by dying to an Abductor Virgin at the bottom of Raya Lucaria. It has two achievement bosses.
Godskin Noble: The boss of the main area.
Shardbearer Rykard: The final boss of Volcano Manor can be accessed through the area or directly teleported to by completing the Volcano Manor assassination jobs.
Deeproot Depths
This area is accessed through a coffin at the end of the Siofra Aqueduct or through an illusionary wall found in the boss room of Mohg, the Omen. It has one achievement boss.
Lichdragon Fortissax: Accessed by progressing Fia’s questline by giving her the Cursemark of Death when you find her at the open area at the end of the Deeproot Depths. You must give her the Cursemark, rest at a Grace and then choose to touch her as she slumbers; you will be teleported to the boss battle.
Altus Plateau
Reach by either going through the Miner’s Cave found at the end of a ravine at the northern edge of Liurnia of the Lakes or by using the Grand Lift of Dectus.
Magma Wyrm Maker: It is found at the end of the Miner’s Cave and must be defeated if you want to reach Altus Plateau without using the Grand Lift.
Elemer of the Briar: The final boss of the Shaded Castel, which is found in the north of the Altus Plateau before reaching Mt. Gelmir. Also required for the Legendary Armaments achievement as he drops the Marais Executioner’s Sword.
Leyndell, Royal Capital
Accessed from the Altus Plateau, it has several bosses and an underground sewer area.
Mohg, the Omen: He is found at the very bottom of the Royal Capital sewers and is required for the Flame of Frenzy ending achievement.
Crumbling Farum Azula
The area can be accessed after defeating the Fire Giant and is an area of the main game’s story.
Dragonlord Placidusax: An optional boss of the area who is well-hidden. He is accessed by going from the Beside the Great Bridge Site of Grace, taking the lift down, exiting the church full of beastmen and then jumping off the cliff’s edge directly opposite the church. Be careful with this jump, as the platforms to fall upon are easy to miss. Follow these platforms down until you reach a large floating piece of ruins and choose to lie down when prompted. You will then gain access to the boss fight.
Mountaintops of the Giants
This is a sprawling area accessed after defeating Morgott, the Omen King and travelling north.
Commander Niall: The boss of Fort Sol is found in the north of this area and is required to access the Consecrated Snowfields.
Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree
This location is accessed by collecting both halves of the secret Haligtree Medallion and using them at the Grand Lift of Rold to reach the Consecrated Snowfield. At the northern edge of this area, there is an abandoned village with a beacon flame puzzle; complete it, and you will be teleported to Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree.
Loretta, Knight of the Haligtree: The first boss of the Haligtree who is found early on.
Shardbearer Malenia: The final boss of the Haligtree location and is found at the very end of the area.
Mohgywan Palace
This palace can be accessed through a gate in the Consecrated Snowfields or by using the Pureblood Knight’s Medal you are given by Varre when you progress through his quest.
Shardbearer Mohg: The only boss of the area — it is advised to first collect the Purifying Crystal Tear by defeating Eleonora, Violet Bloody Finger, at the Second Church of Marika in the Altus Plateau. Use the tear in your Flask and use the Flask when Mohg uses his ultimate attack; it will prevent you from having to heal profusely to stay alive.
The next set of achievements is for items.
To obtain these achievements, you must collect all the pertinent legendary items in each category.
Legendary Sorceries and Incantations
- Comet Azur: Acquired from Primeval Sorcerer Azur along the cliffs north of the Hermit Village in Mt. Gelmir.
- Elden Stars: Found near the Great Waterfall Crest Site of Grace in Deeproot Depths.
- Flame of the Fell God: Dropped by Adan, Thief of Fire from the Malefactor’s Evergoal in southern Liunria of the Lakes.
- Founding Rain of Stars: Found at the top of Heretical Rise in the Mountaintops of the Giants.
- Greyroll’s Roar: After killing Greyroll, the giant immobile dragon in Caelid, the spell can be bought for dragon hearts at the Cathedral of Dragon Communion.
- Stars of Ruin: Acquired from Master Lusat from Sellia Hideaway in Caelid after progressing Sorceress Sellen’s questline.
- Ranni’s Dark Moon: Found at the top of Chelona’s Rise in the Moonlight Altar, accessed at the end of Ranni’s questline.
Legendary Talismans
- Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman: Found in a chest near the Drainage Channel Site of Grace in Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree.
- Erdtree’s Favor +2: Found on a dead tree in Leyndell, Ashen Capital, accessed by backtracking from the Grand Lift of Rold to the Capital.
- Godfrey Icon: Drops from Godefroy the Grafted in the Golden Lineage Evergaol found in the Altus Plateau south of the Grand Lift of Dectus.
- Marika’s Soreseal: Found on an altar in a room requiring a Stonesword Key in the lower levels of Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree.
- Moon of Nokstella: Found in a chest near the end of Nokstella, Eternal City.
- Old Lord’s Talisman: Found in a chest in Crumbling Farum Azula guarded by several beastmen after defeating the Crucible Knight.
- Radagon Icon: Found inside a treasure chest on the second floor of the Debate Parlor Site of Grace.
- Radagon’s Soreseal: Found on a corpse in Fort Faroth after jumping into a hidden area.
Legendary Armaments
- Bolt of Gransax: Found on the giant spear in Leyndell by going from the Godfrey, the First Elden Lord boss fight down the lift and jumping down to the giant spear. This weapon is no longer accessible after progressing the main story past the Fire Giant and Crumbling Farum Azula.
- Dark Moon Greatsword: Acquired by following Ranni’s questline until reaching the Moonlight Altar.
- Devourer’s Scepter: Obtained by slaying Invader Bernahl in Crumbling Farum Azula in the area after the Crucible Knight.
- Eclipse Shotel: Found in a chest in Castle Sol.
- Golden Order Greatsword: Obtained from the Misbegotten Crusader boss fight in the Cave of the Forlorn in the Consecrated Snowfield.
- Grafted Blade Greatsword: Obtained after the Leonine Misbegotten boss fight in Castle Morne.
- Marais Executioner’s Sword: Obtained from the Elemer of the Briar boss fight in The Shaded Castle.
- Ruins Greatsword: Acquired after beating the Misbegotten Warrior and Crucible Knight boss battle in Redmane Castle.
- Sword of Night and Flame: Found in a chest in the Caria Manor by jumping down from its stone walkways from the Manor Lower Level Site of Grace.
Legendary Ashen Remains
- Ancient Dragon Knight Kristoff: Obtained from the Ancient Hero of Zamor boss fight in Sainted Hero’s Grave found west of Leyndell, Royal Capital on the Altus Plateau.
- Black Knife Tiche: Acquired from the Alecto, Black Knife boss fight in the Ringleader’s Evergaol found on the western edge of the Moonlight Altar.
- Cleanrot Knight Finlay: Found in a chest guarded by a Cleanrot knight in Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree. The chest is found in the area after the Prayer Room Site of Grace.
- Lhutel the Headless: Acquired from the Cemetery Shade boss fight at the Tombsward Catacombs in the Weeping Peninsula.
- Mimic Tear: Found in a chest in a room locked behind an imp statue door in Night’s Sacred Ground in Nokron, Eternal City — the door requires Swordstone keys to open.
- Redmane Knight Ogha: Obtained from the Putrid Tree Spirit boss fight in the War Dead Catacombs found at the far eastern edge of the Radhan boss fight arena.
God-Slaying Armaments
Acquiring this achievement requires upgrading any weapon to its maximum: +10 for special weapons and +25 for regular ones.
You will have likely been passively upgrading your favoured weapon throughout your journey until +9 or +24. Therefore, you’ll need a Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone or an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone to reach the maximum upgrade level.
Here are the areas where they both can be found.
Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone
- 1 acquired from Latenna’s questline after delivering her to Apostate Derelict.
- 1 found in the Mohgwyn Palace near the Dynasty Mausoleum Midpoint.
- 3 found in Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree.
- 1 found in Leyndell, Ashen Capital.
- 1 found in Crumbling Farum Azula.
- 1 dropped by Anastasia, Tarnished-Eater, after defeating her during her third invasion in the Consecrated Snowfields.
Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone
- 1 acquired from Nepheli Loux after completing her questline.
- 1 can be purchased from Gatekeeper Gostoc if he’s still alive as a merchant at the end of Nepheli Loux’s questline.
- 1 obtained by siding with Witch-Hunter Jerren at the end of Sorceress Sellen’s questline.
- 1 obtained from Gurranq after feeding him 9 Deathroot or killing him after you have beaten Maliket.
- 1 found in the Mountaintops of the Giants south-east of the Church of Repose.
- 3 found in the Consecrated Snowfields.
- 3 found in Crumbling Farum Azula.
- 2 found in Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree.
Ending and other achievements
Once you’ve acquired all the items and beaten all the bosses needed for the above achievements, all that’s required is to complete the game three times to get the three required endings and visit Roundtable Hold.
There are multiple endings for Elden Ring that have been discovered thus far, but only three of them have achievements.
Age of the Stars: Acquired by completing Ranni’s questline and summoning her through her blue sign in the final bosses’ arena after defeating it.
Elden Lord: The default ending for the game where you don’t use any of the runes or NPCs and defeat the final boss and touch Marika.
Lord of Frenzied Flame: Acquired by joining the Frenzied Flame and the Three Fingers, who can be found past the Mohg, the Omen boss fight. In the boss arena, go through the secret door, which looks like an altar, and descend to the lowest level. You will find a Site of Grace and a glowing red door, take off your armour, and you can open the door and be marked by the Three Fingers. After you defeat the final boss, you’ll automatically get this ending. Note, using Miquella’s Needle undoes the mark of Frenzy.
The last remaining achievements are for reaching Roundtable Hold for the first time and the Elden Ring Achievement, which unlocks once you’ve acquired all others.
