Baseball crosses the Atlantic once more during fantasy baseball's Week 11, as the "London Series," part of MLB's World Tour, takes place Saturday and Sunday, June 8-9 at London Stadium. The New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies will play a pair of games, each team serving as the home team for one contest (the Mets on Saturday, and the Phillies on Sunday). Each team gets a pair of days off leading into the series (Thursday and Friday) and another day off Monday of Week 12 to account for the travel. (Note that Sunday's game, broadcast on ESPN, has a 10 a.m. ET scheduled start time.)
As is often the case with international games, park factors are tough to gauge -- and those at London Stadium are no different. The first time games were played there, between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees in 2019, the teams combined for 50 runs scored and 10 home runs in two games. After the venue experienced some outfield-dimension and fence-height adjustments following that series, the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals combined for 22 runs and three homers in their two games there in 2023, which is much closer to what we should expect going forward. Nevertheless, London Stadium does lean hitter-friendly, for your planning purposes.
Due to the additional days off, the Mets and Phillies are among four teams that are scheduled to play only five times during Week 11, with the Miami Marlins and Tampa Bay Rays being the other two. Eight teams are scheduled to play on all seven days, six of them in the National League.
