How do you make an effective watchlist? ›

You can build an effective watchlist in three steps. First, collect a handful of leadership or liquidity components in each major sector. Second, add scanned listings of stocks that meet general technical criteria matching your market approach. Third, rescan the list nightly.

In the Stocks app on your Mac, click the name of the current watchlist at the top of the sidebar, then choose the watchlist with ticker symbols you want to reorder. Drag ticker symbols to reorder them.

You simply type in the stock tickers or copy / paste them from a CSV or Excel file. Just separate the tickers using space, commas, or newlines. We'll search for the tickers you enter in our database and return the matches. Click Add to Watchlist in the next step to complete the import process.
