Looking for treasure keys in Destiny 2? The Destiny 30th anniversary event is underway, and with it comes a new activity and plenty of chances to earn loot. You'll need treasure keys for most of it, and there's only one way to get them: stepping into eternity, or Destiny 2's version of it at any rate.
Completing the new Dares of Eternity activity rewards you with Treasure Keys. You only get one Treasure Key per completion, so plan on repeating this several times Unlike the seasonal activity that kicked off Season of the Lost, this one doesn't take too much time.
How to Start Dares of Eternity in Destiny 2
Dares of Eternity is a matchmade activity. To start it:

Dares of Eternity has several phases to get through.
Impress Starhorse by Defeating Enemy Forces
This one's pretty self explanatory. Just shoot enough enemies until you fill the objective bar.

Defeat Bombtenders and Use Their Dares Against Commanders
Your goal in the second phase is finding the Bombtender enemies, then defeating them and chucking the Dares (bombs, essentially) at Commanders to deal heavy damage. The Commanders have special icons marking them, but the Bombtenders are usually hiding away from the frontlines and are denoted by round icons. You can't damage Commanders without the bombs, so don't waste time trying to defeat them other ways.
Remove Gatekeepers' Shields with the Heads of Headbearers
The third Dare is similar to the second, in that you need to defeat a weaker enemy to take on the larger one. The Gatekeepers have several shields protecting them from harm. Find the Headbearers, again denoted by round icons, defeat them, and hold their heads to zap the enemy's shields. The process usually defeats the Shieldbearers, so you won't have a second round of combat.

A boss pops up, and you'll have to use more Heads to remove its shields too.
The Final Dare is an amalgamation of the previous ones, with waves of enemies, shielded foes you'll have to use other items to destroy, and then a last boss, the Dare Champion. Power through it to win your loot.

You can only carry five Treasure Keys at a given time, so make sure to use them before going back and repeating the Dares of Eternity.
You can get Treasure Keys — for picking up some sweet loot from Xur or unlocking some special anniversary cosmetics — from a handful of places. The first and most simple one is from the chest at the end of a Dares of Eternity run.
Dungeon Keys are included in the Deluxe Edition of an expansion, and can also be purchased separately in the Eververse store, from Hawthorne in the Tower, or from the specific dungeon node on the Destinations map for 2000 Silver.
The Treasury Key is a Key type Quest Item used during Captains of the Damned. The item is obtained at Isla Tesoro after passing through the town's jail into a courtyard. The key is found by raising the bucket from the well and collecting the key inside, and is used to open the Treasury.
Lair Keys are earned by completing activities throughout Destiny 2. Ritual playlists and activities in the Dreaming City are the best sources of Lair Keys, as they are more likely to reward one when you complete an activity. Lair Keys drop from Ritual activities and the Dreaming City.
You can also gain dungeon keys by defeating difficult opponents, such as rare enemies and bosses. According to the Last Epoch Wiki, you have a low chance of getting the items from these opponents. However, there is a guaranteed dungeon key drop from defeating bosses within Echoes in the Monolith of Fate activity.
Keys can either be found as treasure, dropped by monsters, or bought from various merchants in town. In the original Diablo II, a stack of keys could contain 6, but this was changed to 12 in the expansion. The cost is 10 gold per 5 keys.
According to the text of the item in-game, Defiant Keys can be found by completing any activity in the game. To be more specific, Defiant Keys drop from activities like Vanguard Ops playlists, Crucible matches, Gambit matches, weekly Campaign missions, Terminal Overload, and raids.
Aside from being obtained as a random drop, Witch's Key can also be acquired by leveling up the Season Pass (Ranks 2, 12, 52, and 92) and also by ranking up with the Ritual Table in the H.E.L.M.
That's right, simply playing the game will give you a chance of acquiring Strange Coins. Ritual activities encompass the general meat and bones of Destiny 2: Vanguard playlist (Nightfall, Vanguard Opts, Onslaught), Gambit, and Crucible are your go-tos. The drops are random so you'll need a bit of luck.
With that in mind, the EDZ tends to be the best place to quickly farm Public Events. The type of events that take place tend to be quick, and the location is so large that there is almost always a public event in progress, or about to start.
The easiest way to grab them is by finishing patrols and public events. Once you unlock Terminal Overload Keys, you shouldn't have to go out of your way for more to drop. If you're short, Nimbus has a daily bounty that guarantees a Terminal Overload Key once you reach rank 13 with the vendor.
Players get their first Lair Key when they complete the first week of the seasonal story. In addition, players can get two Lair Keys from Riven when they reach ranks seven and 13. The Season Pass is also a good source for getting some extra Lair Keys as well.
However, by exploring, the game asks you to conduct patrols, loot chests, and gather planetary materials. Once done, go to the Crown of Sorrow vendor inside the H.E.L.M to end the questline. This will reward you with a guaranteed Opulent Key that will allow you to open a chest that it asks you to.
