Kyle, Co-Owner Of Wealthy Affiliate Platform Speaks (2024)

This post is about Kyle Loudon a co-founder of Wealthy Affiliate. I will talk about him, his commendations and some of the complaints about him. And then present a paraphrased story of his about how he and his partner founder of Wealthy Affiliate Carson Lim started the platform.

Introduction

In 2005, Kyle and Carson, the creators of Wealthy Affiliate, jumped into the online business world.

Back then, online advertising was like the Wild West, and success seemed just a Google ad campaign away.

But things are different now. Kyle and Carson, while still smart guys have shifted their attention. Instead of actively managing their own affiliate sites, they're now busy running Wealthy Affiliate, a top-notch online training platform.

That's where the big challenge came up. several outdated pieces of training in the core training modules. Although they have recently updated their training, it took them too long to do so.

Kyle's Personality and Activities Within The Platform

If you've ever heard Kyle speak, you would agree that he seems a really cool guy. He is the face of the platform, or should I say the star boy. He handles the training while Carson handles the tech stuff more behind the scenes.

I know him to be legit. Just as his platform is. He is the one who wrote the article that earned them a lawsuit from MOBE that shook Wealthy Affiliate to its bone marrow. Thankfully they came out victorious.

Also, Kyle is very helpful and active on the platform chat sections. He responds to questions and offers support to members within the platform every single day.

And his vlogs within the platform are a veritable tool for regular updates about development within the platform, affiliate marketing and the SEO world in general.

A Plausible Complaints About Mr. Kyle

One of the most concrete complaints about Kyle is the fact that he seems to have abandoned doing affiliate marketing himself. He's now focused on managing the platform. That shouldn't ordinarily be a problem.

But the problem is, as the chief trainer of a premium and populated platform like Wealthy Affiliate, he needs to be constantly in tune with what works in the trenches. Affiliate marketing isn't a business model you just pontificate on from the comfort of your couch. You need to be in the trenches to be in tune with current realities.

And since Kyle isn't active in the trenches, he may not be in the best position to be a lead coach of a big and diverse platform like Wealthy Affiliate. This, in my opinion, is how come about some training gaps in his core training.

Thankfully, he has several assistants who are also giving live sessions that are usually recorded and archived within the platform.

My Recommendation to Mr. Kyle

I think he needs to either completely outsource the training or become more active in building and mentoring affiliate marketing websites.

And they, the platform owners should commit to a regular review and update of its core training, say every three years. That would save them a lot of embarrassment and badmouthing by haters and competitors.

But overall, Wealthy Affiliate is a great platform and one of the best places for starters to kickstart their affiliate marketing journey at any rate. Anyone telling you something about the country is likely up to something.

My Major Problem With Kyle's Wealthy Affiliate

Here's my major problem with Wealthy Affiliate.

Upgrading to Premium: A One-Way Journey

When you upgrade to Premium, it's like moving to a better package, and it brings lots of great advantages. However, there's an important thing to remember: once you've made this move, you can't switch back to the Starter plan.

This might not be an issue for some people. But those who have promoted Wealthy Affiliate and gotten some signups or have their websites hosted on Wealthy Affiliate must know this – if you ever decide to cancel your Premium membership, you won't be able to go back to the Starter plan.

This means that you will no longer be able to earn from your referrals and you have to plan to move out your website from Wealthy Affiliate hosting. I know this because I have been through that route.

And in all honesty, let me be clear that my moving out was caused by certain circ*mstances that weren't a fault of Wealthy Affiliate.

So, it's a good idea to plan ahead. Be ready to move your website to a different hosting if you ever need to cancel your Premium membership. This way, you won't have to worry about losing your website, and you can keep it running smoothly.

How Wealthy Affiliate Was Borm --- Kyles Speaks

But how did this platform start? Kyle himself has told the story on several occasions. But what I am presenting here is a paraphrase of what he wrote on one occasion.

The owner of The Make Money Online Thing website published a message that Kyle purportedly sent him. Here, is the paraphrased version of the message.

The Journey from "Newbie" to Online Success: My Story

Introduction:

Picture this: I'm sitting in a college computer science class, my head filled with dreams of success but no clear path to get there. That's when a fellow student, Carson, drops a bombshell: he's making money online. Naturally, I'm intrigued and ask him how. His response, something about affiliate marketing, might as well have been in another language. But I'm determined to figure it out.

The Newbie Phase:

Let me paint the picture: I knew zilch. No skills, never built a website, and barely had an email account. In today's terms, you could call me a "complete newbie." But I knew one thing - Carson was making money online, and that was all the motivation I needed. There was just one hiccup: I was a "starving student" with a shoestring budget. But I was ready to exchange sweat equity for success.

The Burning Question:

Back then, a question haunted me: "Do people really make money online?" It's like asking if dogs bark now, but at the time, I was in the same boat. It's hard to believe in an opportunity until you see others succeeding in it.

The Reality Check:

Here's the first takeaway: People just like you and me are raking in cash online, and I mean serious money. But here's the kicker - despite the push-button scams promising instant success, it's quite the opposite. It took me time, and it will take you time too. But with effort and patience, success is inevitable.

The Grueling Grind:

Let's fast forward to month three. I'm grinding it out on the Internet, tirelessly working towards my goals. I didn't have the luxury of today's one-click website builders like those at Wealthy Affiliate. Creating a website back then took me nearly 30 days, and it wasn't even in the same league as the beautiful sites you're building in WA with SiteRubix.

The Missing Help:

Also, I didn't have the fantastic features Premium members now enjoy, like SiteManager, SiteComments, SiteFeedback, SiteSpeed, SiteSecure, SiteContent, and SiteHealth. Plus, setting up a domain was a week-long struggle, something that now takes just 15 seconds with SiteDomains. Imagine what I could've achieved with Wealthy Affiliate back then!

No Lifeline, Just Me and My Computer:

Remember, I had no one to guide me, no experts, and no community like you have at WA for help and mentorship. It was just me, my computer, and a dream.

The Turning Point:

Then, in my third month, something incredible happened. I logged in, checked my affiliate stats, and boom - a sale, around a $42 commission. My first thought? "What if I had quit a few weeks or months into this?" We all crave instant success, but building something meaningful takes time. If I had given up, I wouldn't enjoy the life I have today.

The Shift Towards Success:

Let me clarify: this is just the beginning. A few weeks later, another sale. Then another. Consistency started around month six, with sales nearly every day. Sometimes, I even had $100 days by month nine.

The First Paycheck:

By month nine, regular checks arrived in my mailbox. I reinvested everything into my business, pouring money into pay-per-click and other ads. It paid off big time.

The Road to Full-Time Income:

Fast forward to month twelve, and I'd achieved what most people dream of - full-time income. Still, I felt a lurking fear that the internet might suddenly vanish. That was in 2002, and 17 years later, the internet is booming.

The One-Year Magic:

By all accounts, it takes a year to establish a solid foundation for any business. Yes, you can earn money along the way, even go full-time within that period. But, please, give yourself at least a year. There's no better place to build your business than Wealthy Affiliate.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Kyle Loudon, co-founder of Wealthy Affiliate, has played a significant role in building and nurturing this platform into what it is today.

His dedication to providing valuable training and support to aspiring affiliate marketers is evident.

Kyle's active involvement within the Wealthy Affiliate community, including his regular vlogs and interactions, showcases his commitment to helping members succeed.

However, there are concerns about his reduced involvement in affiliate marketing itself, which has led to some training gaps. It's crucial for him to stay connected with the evolving landscape of affiliate marketing to ensure the training remains relevant and up-to-date.

While Wealthy Affiliate offers an excellent platform for beginners to kickstart their affiliate marketing journey, the one-way journey to Premium membership should be considered when upgrading.

Planning ahead for potential changes or cancellations is advisable to avoid losing your website and referrals.

Overall, Wealthy Affiliate remains a valuable resource for those entering the world of affiliate marketing, with Kyle Loudon contributing significantly to its success.
