With Netflix increasing its Basic and Premium subscription prices in 2023, many subscribers are looking for yearly subscription options to save money. But does Netflix offer any annual or lifetime subscription plans? Here’s all you need to know.
Can you buy a Netflix yearly subscription?
No, Netflix doesn’t offer any yearly subscription plans at the moment.
There are multiple streaming services that support yearly plans. For instance, Prime Video costs $14.99 a month but also has a yearly plan of $139 that offers two months free to its subscribers.
Paramount+ has monthly plans that go for $5.99/month (with ads) and $11.99/month (without ads). But it also offers yearly plans for $59.99/year (with ads) and $119.99/year (without ads), offering its users two months’ worth of free subscriptions.
Similar is the case with Disney+, MAX, Peaco*ck, and many other streaming services. This way, they can provide subscribers with an extra incentive to subscribe to the service. But Netflix doesn’t have a yearly subscription plan.
Netflix already holds a 247.2 million subscriber base as per its Q3 2023 reports. This total is the highest for any streaming service, indicating that Netflix is already attracting new subscribers without yearly discounts. Therefore, it doesn’t necessarily need to introduce new yearly plans as long as subscribers continue growing.
Seeing how fans react to Netflix’s latest price increase will be interesting. Whether Netflix will still be able to gain new subscribers with the added cost remains to be seen.
Can you buy a Netflix lifetime subscription?
No, Netflix doesn’t offer any lifetime subscription plans either.
It currently offers the following subscription prices to choose from:
Standard with Ads – $6.99 a month
Standard without ads – $15.49 a month
Basic plan for existing subscribers – $11.99 a month (not available to new subscribers)
It doesn't exist except in a thieving scammer's mind. Netflix's costs are too variable to use a lifetime subscription revenue model. Only purchase subscriptions from Netflix's official website.
Why doesn't Netflix offer a yearly subscription? Here are some possible explanations: Pricing Flexibility: Monthly subscriptions make it easier for Netflix to adjust its pricing. User Experience: It simplifies the process of canceling or altering subscription levels.

The standard plan by Netflix costs Rs. 199 per month and the annual cost comes out to be Rs. 5988. Under this plan, you can watch content on two devices at a time, that too at 1080p resolution. Downloading shows and movies for offline viewing can be downloaded on two supported devices.
The Standard with ads plan is suitable for occasional viewers, while the Standard plan is ad-free and allows for streaming on multiple devices. The Premium plan is recommended for large families and offers 4K streaming and downloads on up to six devices.
A Netflix account is meant to be shared by people who live together in one household. People who are not in your household will need to sign up for their own account to watch Netflix. You can manage who uses your account by setting a Netflix Household.
Basic and Premium plan Netflix subscribers will now pay a little more each month for the streaming service. To help save on this cost, get a credit card that rewards streaming purchases, switch your phone plan to T-Mobile or take a pause on your subscription.
Netflix does not offer free trials, but you have the freedom to change your plan or cancel online at any time if you decide Netflix isn't for you. There are no contracts, no cancellation fees, and no commitments.
The Standard plan is Netflix's most popular as it gives the best options for those who live in homes with multiple people and like to watch their content at a higher resolution.
Up to six devices can be supported from a single Premium account (but only four can be used at the same time). Up to two additional screens/devices can be added for use by non-household members, for an extra $8 each per month.
If you're on a shared Netflix account with people in one household, chances are it's a Premium one ($23 a month) -- if you're actually splitting it between four people, that's about $6 a month each, and a still a value for all of the original content available, including some in 4K Ultra HD.
Despite the increase in competition, Netflix does not offer any sort of free trial. Even though the service does have a free trial page in the Netflix help center, it simply states that Netflix does not offer free trials and points to links on how to change your Netflix plan or cancel your Netflix membership.
With the new change this year, US subscribers will have three plans to choose from: Basic With Ads ($7 per month), ad-free Standard ($15.50 a month) or Premium ($23 per month). If you want to share your account with someone outside your household, there's an optional extra member fee of $8 per month.
You can use Netflix gift cards to pay for Netflix or to give as a gift. Netflix gift cards can be purchased at various retail locations and online. Gift cards do not expire, which is printed on the back of each card. Gift cards are non-refundable.
