Phenomenal game, very mature subject matted
While I think that this is a phenomenal game, I don’t believe that it is in any way appropriate for younger players. Many people have stated that the gun violence and swearing are nothing - but that isn’t my concern at all. Many of these cases deal with very mature subject matter. For example, one case deals with a 15 year old girl being drugged and raped. You inspect the underwear that has been “torn off of her”. In another, you view a woman’s completely nude dead body, where her murderer has carved obscenities into her skin. There are also multiple scenes of intravenous drug usage. It is important to remember that this game is set in the late 40s, so racism and hom*ophobia are very present as well and there are several scenes displaying this. One other concern that I have for younger players, is that a very horrific, real life crime is referenced several times in this game. If, by chance, someone were to Google this case, it is very easy to find the original, uncensored crime scene photos of this murder. So while you don’t see the photos in the game, it could potentially spark players to look up the case and come across graphic images. Again, I think that this is a fantastic game, but I highly suggest waiting until your child is older, and I suggest you prepare to talk about domestic violence, sexual abuse, drug usage, etc. As they may have questions.

Brilliant game that isn't suitable for kids
I have been completing this game and it is really good. But definitely not for anyone under 15! The game has loads of brutal, bloody crime scenes which are over the top. There is also frequent use of strong language including f**k, motherf**ker. And there is one scene of nudity which is uncensored but it is only in a mission which you can skip. Free roam is fine for anyone 7+ because you cannot kill civilians, you can only drive around and run around. But missions are for 15+ due to nudity, extreme language and very strong bloody violence.

Great Game, Good Narrative, Deuteragonist Underrated
This game is heavy; there is an investigation in which you have to examine a dead woman who has been stripped of all of her clothes, many of the side characters use racial slurs, there are a couple instances in which you see domestic violence and assault on display, you investigate a serial killing spree, and police corruption is very present in this story. The main character is a complicated one; he is a very lawful person, but not a completely moral person. A major flaw of his being lack of responsibility and fidelity in his marriage; despite having a wife, he gets around. There is, however, a secondary playable character that is far more morally driven who has a large presence in this story and is the reason I ticked the "Great Role Models" box. There are the occasional shootouts, which are comparable to that of fellow Rockstar Titles Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption but they are not overly present in-game, nor are they particularly gruesome. However, the crime scenes are graphic and there are some pretty disturbing ones that you will encounter. The language usage is comparable to Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag excluding the slurs; present but not everywhere. As I said before there is also a fair bit of racism that is present in the game, a reflection of the time, but neither of the playable characters engage in it. Racial slurs are used when appropriate by particular side characters.Obviously, there is a crap ton of drinking and smoking in this game, it was set in the '40s. And as for drugs, a large portion of the game is centered around stopping drug traffickers. There are advertisem*nts in the game that feature real-life brands from the time period, but those are more for accuracy's sake than anything else.Overall this game shows a lot of historical issues issues and presents them as they were, tries to instill good values in Rockstar's traditional cynical fashion and has one playable character that is a fantastic role model for others.

kids can put up with this
first off there is only a tiny bit of violence at police shootouts and its nothing much, there is 90 uses of the word f*ck and 1 use of c*nt but it is a 30 hour long game say kingsman secret service has over 100 f bombs but that film is just over 2 hours long this is 30 hours long and this has less f bombs than kingsman so there will only be 3 swears an hour in la noire which is a big difference as in kingsman there will be over 50 swears an hour and if your child was 12 you would let them watch kingsman and finally the nudity it is only breif and barely visible everyone is overreacting and its not in a sexy way its just victims who have been stripped off and cmon everyone over the age of 7 knows what genitals look like so i conclude that you can get this for your kid if they are 9+

Maybe Mature
I think that this game brings up some interesting topics. L.A Noire is a 3rd person police game that has less realistic violence that occurs less then most shooter games. Most of the violence comes from some unrealistic bodies as you check their coat pockets and inspect their wounds. As a police you go through different stages from traffic detective to homicide. This game is more about investigation then graphic violence. Although this game’s violence is not particularly graphic it does have some drugs with some missions involving drug dealers. There is also brief nudity but it does not really stand out. Swearing makes up a portion of the script but not a big enough portion that it becomes too much. Finally, it involves a deranged man running around in his underwear and a lot of the game is catching parole jumpers.

Great game but can get mature from time to time
This is an awesome crime drama game obviously there is lots of intense violence including gun fights but not very bloody, some blood, I only saw one brief nudity scene not really that noticeable, there a lot of drinking and drug in the game but there are couple of drug dealer missions in the game and last thing is the swearing and this game has lots of swearing lots of it f words are used in almost every scene I would say around 70 to 85 uses of the f word throughout the game overall this game has it’s fair share of mature content but definitely not as bad as gta 5 is.

Parents read perfect for twelve and up
T|IN this game you are dectective who take dow n a local drug cartel. There is shooting and blood, but no gore. There is no sex or nudity in this game but there is a mention of someone being raped and your character is uncomfortable with the comment. There is language, but itsn't frequent. The content in this game is EXACTLY the same amount of content that is in assassin's creed. Parents, please if you let your child play assassin's creed then let them play this, they will enjoy this game a ton.
